Ann Lancaster, TN	This kettle is super fast heating. When we first got it, we filled it with a measured amount of water (17 oz), and set an equal amount of water in a kettle on our KitchenAid glass top range turned on high, then turned on the timer to count up in minutes. At 4:03 minutes the Bodum kettle was boiling, but the kettle on the stovetop was hardly warm. It took nearly four more minutes for the conventional kettle to come to a boil! This is a significant difference. With this simple test, the Bodum won its place on our countertop . . . and the red is luscious to the eyes. The auto-off feature is both an electricity saver and a peace-of-mind saver. Don't have to worry about it over heating and boiling dry. Even the large 34 oz size takes up very little of our precious countertop space It's light weight and has a good sized handle that allows you to get a firm grip on the kettle for pouring. The lid easily pops off for inside cleaning (if necessary) and the whole kettle removes from its heating element base.
