Frost Black Full-Leaf

Frost Black Full-Leaf

Blue Mountain High Grown Tea - The Minister of Evolution has traveled to great heights to discover this most unique and flavorful tea. Originating in the Southern Ghats Mountains in India within the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu, these high grown leaves (7000 ft) are tended by the Badagas, a local community of agriculturists. This tea is grown in the coldest months of winter so the leaves frequently frost over, which enhances the taste dramatically. Enjoy the fresh muscatel notes of a first flush Darjeeling, the sweet notes of an Oolong and the robustness of an Assam in this remarkable tea.

When I read the description of this tea, I knew it was something I was going to have to try. I ordered it as soon as it became available. For any lovers of black tea (unsweetened) out there, I highly recommend it. The leaves definitely have the look of a first flush Darjeeling, but the aroma and flavor are more akin to what I'm used to from Chinese/Taiwanese black teas. A nice malty boldness, with an underlying sweetness that lingers on the tongue after it's already gone. The first steep was the best, but it resteeped very well. This is definitely a high quality tea, and I suggest you try it while you can. Well worth the price!
