Room to Read, founded by John Wood in 2000, is a leader in providing educational opportunities to underprivileged children around the world. Room to Read was established based on the belief that education is crucial to breaking the cycle of poverty in the developing world. Since then, the organization has supported nearly two million children by catalyzing the construction of more than 700 schools and 7,000 bilingual libraries with 5 million books, and supporting the education of over 7,000 girls.
Room to Read is providing opportunities that change children's lives and communities throughout Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Zambia. Its goal is to create an additional 5,000 libraries, bringing education to five million children by 2010.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure was founded in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. Nancy promised herself she'd fulfill Suzy's plea to help others confronted with the disease. Today, Susan G. Komen for the Cure is credited as the nation's leading catalyst in the fight against breast cancer.
The stated mission of organization is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. As the country's most progressive grassroots organization fighting breast cancer today, Susan G. Komen for the Cure has more than 35,000 volunteers working in local communities in the U.S. and internationally to further the Foundation's mission.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation is the world's largest philanthropic source of support for prostate cancer research. The PCF has a single goal: To find better treatments and a cure for recurrent prostate cancer. The PCF pursues its mission by reaching out to individuals, corporations and others to harness society's resources - both financial and human - to fight this deadly disease.
Founded in 1993, the PCF has raised more than $230 million and grants have been distributed to more than 1,200 researchers at 100 institutions worldwide. The PCF has been a pioneer in the grant making process, simplifying paperwork for grantees, leaving more time for researchers to conduct needed scientific research. The PCF also advocates for greater awareness of prostate cancer and more governmental resources, resulting in a 20-fold increase in government funding for prostate cancer.

Established in 1895, Sunny Hills Services is a private, non-profit organization that provides a full spectrum of residential, education, mental health, and community-based services designed to meet the needs of emotionally and mentally disturbed, neglected and abused children from 5 through 21 years of age.
Each year, Sunny Hills Services provides direct treatment to over 400 children in our programs and reaches many of their family members with our supportive family therapy services. Located in Marin County, Sunny Hills Services treats clients from throughout the Bay Area and California.
