Perfect little tool October 13, 2012

This tea strainer is simple but perfect. It's wide enough to fit on every cup I have seen, but small enough to fit neatly in a tea service. Strains very well. Cleaning is nothing more then a quick rinse. Sorry I didn't get it sooner, as it makes a very useful tool in any basic tea set, if you use full leaf teas.

Handy strainer that takes up little space but fits over a variety of cups and mugs. Cool! Think I'll order another for work!

After brewing full-leaf tea in a pot with an infuser, there are always some leaves that come out with the last cup poured. This strainer catches all those small particles. Works great!

Tea Strainer vs Brew Basket January 21, 2012

Dena

,

A quick overview of a tea strainer vs. a brew basket...the tea strainer is meant to keep loose tea from entering your cup as you pour tea brewed from loose leaves from a tea pot into your cup. The brew basket is meant to be placed inside your cup and then you would place loose tea inside it and pour hot water over it. After tea has steeped, pull out the entire brew basket. Both work well depending on which tools you have: Tea pot and strainer or tea kettle and brew basket. Good stuff!

It works well for what it's supposed to do, I only wish it was deeper so the tea leaves could steep in the mug instead of having only one shot for the tea flavor by pouring the water over the leaves. As it is, I have to fill mug to very top so tea can steep. Maybe I am just not using thid item correctly?
