At The Republic of Tea we honor the spirit of Earth Day every day. From printing our catalogue on post-consumer recycled paper to encouraging Citizens to refill our distinctive airtight steel tea tins, we hope to inspire a "green" tea revolution.As our most popular package, our cylindrical steel tea tins are made to be refilled, reused and recycled. Instead of discarding your tins, here are a few ideas:
- Refill: Most of our teas (both tea bags and loose leaf tea) are available in airtight, resealable refill bags, at a slightly reduced price. The refill bags include the same amount of tea as their tin counterparts.
- Reuse: What you can do with your used steel tin is limited only by your imagination. Pencil cup, flower pot, herb garden.
- Recycle: Made of recyclable steel, our tea tins can be recycled by most community recycling services. If your community doesn't offer curbside recycling, visit Earth911 for a list of recycling centers in your area.
