The Prime Citizen℠ Program (the “Program”) is designed to help you (“Citizen”) get the most out of your patronization of The Republic of Tea. We reward you for doing the things you already do: shop on www.republicoftea.com (the “Site”), and refer friends to The Republic of Tea. Best of all, you can redeem the Tea Leaf Rewards you earn to receive discounts off your order

The following terms and conditions (these “Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions”) contain important information regarding the Program. Please read the following Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions carefully. The Site Terms of Use [https://www.republicoftea.com/terms-of-use/a/cs4/] are fully incorporated into the Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions. You agree to the Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions and the Site Terms of Use by enrolling in the Program. You enroll in the Program by signing up for an account on the Site. These Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions and Site Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and The Republic of Tea. If you do not agree to the Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions or the Site Terms of Use, do not enroll in the Program. In the event of any conflict between the Site Terms of Use [https://www.republicoftea.com/terms-of-use/a/cs4/] and the Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions, the Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions control.

To the extent permitted by law, The Republic of Tea reserves the right to change, modify, and/ or eliminate the Prime Citizen℠ Program and/ or these Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions or any portion of them at any time at its sole discretion. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting any changes or modifications to the Site, and you waive any right to receive specific notice of any such changes, modifications, or eliminations, so it is important to check the Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions periodically. Participation in the Program or redemption of Rewards is considered acceptance of these Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions and any modified terms included therein.

Program Period

This Program will continue until terminated, suspended, modified, or converted to another rewards program by The Republic of Tea (the "Program Period").

Eligibility

To become a Citizen of the Program, you must be 18 years of age or older. To enroll in the Program, you simply need to have registered for an online account at https://www.republicoftea.com/signin.aspx. You do not need to have a subscription to earn Rewards in the Program. Only retail consumers may register to become a Citizen of the Program, and only one account for each individual is permitted. There is no membership fee to become a Citizen of the Program.

Earning The Republic of Tea Rewards

Once you have become a Citizen, you can begin earning The Republic of Tea’s Tea Leaf Rewards (“Rewards”). Additional details can be found: https://www.republicoftea.com/citizenloyalty.aspx



Upon notice, The Republic of Tea reserves the right to suspend, terminate, revalue or modify, without liability to Citizens, all or part of the Rewards’ value structure and offers and any merchandise or service. Notice will be provided by posting an update on the Site. The Republic of Tea reserves the right to adjudicate all Rewards discrepancies in its sole discretion, and the Citizens agree to abide by any such adjudication. The Republic of Tea Rewards Redemption

Rewards are redeemable for a discount on your order. [https://www.republicoftea.com/signin.aspx]. You can redeem your Rewards during the checkout process. Rewards cannot be purchased and are not transferable. You cannot redeem Rewards for more than the total amount of your purchase. Rewards are not redeemable for cash.

The Republic of Tea Rewards Expiration

Tea Leaf Rewards will expire after 12 months of inactivity. You must complete a Prime Citizen℠ activity to keep your Prime Citizen℠ account active. The Republic of Tea will not replace lost, stolen, or expired Rewards.

Rejection of Rewards

Rewards may be rejected at the discretion of The Republic of Tea, including but not limited to for the following reasons:

  • Your Tea Leaf Rewards may be rejected if the person you referred is an existing customer.
  • Your Tea Leaf Rewards may be rejected if you have exceeded the allowable frequency. To see frequency caps on purchases, sign in (https://www.republicoftea.com/signin.aspx) to your account. From the 'My Account' section, navigate to 'Prime Citizen℠ Program' using the tabs on the left. In this section, select the 'Earn Tea Leaf Rewards' tab to see how often Tea Leaf Rewards can be earned.

Reward Conditions

Rewards may be taxable, depending on the value of the item and the federal, state, and local tax laws applicable to Citizen. Citizens are solely responsible for reporting such items on their tax returns and paying any associated tax liability. Citizens may not assign or transfer any Rewards. The Republic of Tea makes no warranty in any respect as to any Rewards, merchandise or service available within the Program.

Unauthorized Access

The Republic of Tea is not responsible for any unauthorized access of your Account or any unauthorized use of any Rewards associated with your Account. If you believe any such unauthorized access or use has occurred, you should notify Citizen Services immediately at (800) 298.4TEA (4832) or citizenhelp@republicoftea.com. Upon receipt of such notification, we will help you to set up a new account and transfer your existing Rewards (if any).

Privacy

The information we collect in connection with the Prime Citizen℠s Program will be treated in compliance with our Privacy Policy [https://www.republicoftea.com/privacy-policy/a/cs3/].

Communications

You agree to receive communications from The Republic of Tea, including emails and notifications, regarding the Program and concerning offers and promotions that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving communications by clicking the link on the bottom of each email. You are responsible for keeping your contact information up to date. The Republic of Tea is not responsible for communications lost due to change of your address or contact information.

Termination by The Republic of Tea

The Republic of Tea may, in its sole and absolute discretion, cancel, change, suspend, or modify any aspect of the Program and/or any Reward at any time, including the availability of any Reward. The Republic of Tea may, in its sole and absolute discretion, terminate or suspend any Citizen’s participation in the Program for breach of these Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions, or for taking any actions that are inconsistent with the intent of these Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions. The Republic of Tea reserves the right at its sole discretion to prohibit any Citizen from participating in any aspect of the Program if The Republic of Tea deems or suspects that such Citizen has engaged in or has attempted to engage in any of the following: (a) acting in violation of these Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions; or (b) damaging, tampering with or corrupting the operation of the Program or Site; or (c) acting with intent to annoy, harass or abuse any other person; or (d) any fraudulent, potentially fraudulent, behavior or activity. Any decision The Republic of Tea makes relating to termination or suspension of any Citizen participation in the Program shall be final and binding in all respects. The Republic of Tea shall be the sole determiner in cases of suspected abuse, fraud, or breach of these Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions or intent of these Prime Citizen℠ Program Terms and Conditions.

Cancellation of Your Membership in the Program

You may cancel your membership in the Program at any time by contacting Citizen Services at (800) 298.4TEA (4832) or citizenhelp@republicoftea.com to delete your account. If you cancel your membership in the Program, you will lose all accumulated Rewards.

Release

Except for willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of The Republic of Tea, by participating in the Program, Citizens release The Republic of Tea, its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, advertising and promotions agencies and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents (collectively, “Released Parties”) from liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense, arising out of or in any way connected to the Program or the use of any Rewards.

Indemnification

Citizens agree to indemnify, defend and hold The Republic of Tea and its representatives, employees, and agents harmless from and against any and all third party claims, demands, liabilities, costs or expenses, including attorney’s fees and costs, arising from, or related to any breach by Citizen of any of these Prime Citizen℠s’ Program Terms and Conditions or any violation by Citizen of applicable law.

Governing Law

The laws of the State of California shall govern these Prime Citizen℠s’ Program Terms and Conditions. Citizen hereby expressly consents to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the courts located in California for all matters arising in connection with these Prime Citizen℠s’ Program Terms and Conditions or Citizen’s participation in the Program.
