I purchased the coconut cocoa which gives me that chocolate kick I want, the ginger peach green tea which smells like strong ginger when you open it but tastes great when brewed, not strong ginger taste at all. The blackberry sage is amazing, just the right flavor for something different in a tea, and of course the honey ginseng green tea is a nice mellow calming flavor.

It has a strong scent of coconut with an underlying scent of chocolate. The coconut taste is present, but the cocoa is very subtle. This was not a favorite tea of mine, but that is probably because I don't like a bitter taste in my tea. The mild bitter flavor still lingered even after adding a honey straw. I think this tea could benefit from a splash of vanilla creamer or even some melted milk chocolate.

Unquestionably one of the most addictive teas I've ever had in my life, I had to get the 250 bulk bag to replenish the dwindling tin supply. I even shipped a few bags off to a friend of mine in Louisiana, and now she's addicted, too! As with so many of the teas in The Republic of Tea, the flavors are perfectly blended, and at no time does the chocolate overpower the coconut (or vice versa). Happily addicted to this wonderful tea!

Which is good, because this tea is not that...rather it has more of a date and cacao flavor with a hint of coconut. It's a terrific tea and unique, I only wish that it was stronger. I find that I need to use 2 bags and steep for far longer than recommended. I think ill try it iced, perhaps different notes emerge when iced.

It is actually better than hot chocolate if you are watching your sugars or calories. I really love this. The flavor is deep and rich. I also drink the almond coconut macaroon tea, but this is even stronger and richer. I prefer it to the Almond Coconut Macaroon, because it is full or taste just not with a buttery caramel taste. It really is good, and I would encourage anyone who likes coconut and chocolate (or hot cocoa) to try it. It is way above and beyond better than any of the cocoa teas on the market by other brands. Republic of Tea is my go-to company for delicious tasting teas and healthy teas as well.

This is right up there in comparison. Just a great combination, almost as good as Teechino Amaretto Almond for a lot less. The chocolate flavor is light and just right so that it does not overwhelm the coconut flavor. If you like coconut, you will like this. I have tried various types/brands of teas with coconut, but none had as much coconut flavor as this one. I have tried it hot and cold and enjoy both. I have enjoyed this tea very much and will be ordering a full container with my next purchase (I tried the cuppa chocolate sampler - recommended as well). The coconut flavor is the strongest in the profile, so you will want to be a fan before you try, but it is a nice toasty coconut flavor, not a chemical/soapy flavor at all. Normally, I will allow rooibos tea to steep forever (until I drink it) but I do recommend topping the time off at around 5 minutes, or the coconut flavor begins to be a bit overwhelming. As I have said on other cuppa chocolate teas, I thought the chocolate notes were underwhelming. I definitely think this is a great dessert alternative, but when I am craving chocolate, I really want it to be chocolate-packed. The rooibos flavor is muted by the coconut flavor in this tea as well. Maybe others won't mind the lack of cocoa punch, but if it were up to me, I would definitely increase the chocolate in the flavor profile. If the Minister of Flavor would boost the cocoa flavor to the levels in the Restore and Reset (reishi and cocoa) tea, it would be like a liquid Almond Joy!

The coconut flavor is not overpowering, and is matched by the faint cocoa and other flavors. The cup is a comforting mellow brew to enjoy in the afternoon or evening. It is so nice to have an herbal blend that is so unique and smooth without the astringency of ginger or mint like most other herbals. It is like having a caramel latte without the sugar or caffeine. I add a touch of vanilla extract which adds a bit of oaky sweetness, but the tea is flavorful and rummy without this. This is my go-to afternoon cup of comfort and relaxation.

When I wake up in the morning, the one thing that gets me out of bed and through the day is the two cups of tea I look forward to at night, sitting on my couch, watching TV while reading and probably looking at my phone, too. Rooibos is gentle on my system, drinking so much tea, and every one of these chocolate varieties is amazing. There is nothing like it. You can't go wrong with any of them, especially if you add milk and love sweet, but not too sweet, chocolate-reminiscent flavors. This is one of the best. Not too strong on the chocolate or coconut, making it perfect for the end of the day.

If you're expecting something that tastes like a chocolate bar or hot chocolate you're better off just making the hot chocolate. This tastes like you're drinking a cacao nib with some coconut. It's not terrible, it's not great, but I can see how this might help curb some cravings if i'm desperate. I had the tea without any sweetener and I steeped it for about 5 minutes since I wanted to see what it tasted like on its own (it says steep 5-7 minutes) so I think it'll improve with something like splenda, sugar, agave whatever floats your sweetener boat since I know some people are looking for something that will help curb their sweet tooth. Who knows maybe after some experimenting with the steep times and some sweetener this might grow on me.

It smells nice, but really the taste blend is so subtle, I was a tad disappointed and wanted more of a chocolate taste to it. But for a nice hot beverage with a hint of flavoring, its fine.

I should have more faith!) so I only ordered 2 tea bags in a custom tea bag set. I added a packet of stevia, which it didn't even need because this tea is phenomenal! It tastes EXACTLY like some coconut chocolate macaroons I buy at my local health food store - but now I can replace them with this tea as a sugar free treat! I wish I would have ordered the full size because I drank both tea bags the day they arrived and now have to wait 5 days for the tin to get shipped to me! Thanks Republic of Tea!

Initially, I ordered it to have after dinner while I was dieting in the hopes that it would satisfy my desire for something sweet (I uses little stevia to sweeten it) after the main meal. Well, it certainly did that, plus, it has become my little treat to myself when I have a difficult day. Everyone I have served it to said they loved it as well. If you like coconut and chocolate, I don't see how you can go wrong trying this one.

BUT, this is a delightful, delicious dessert tea that has quickly become my top favorite! I would describe it as being close to a Coconut Macaroon in fragrance and taste. When you open the tin, the strong aroma of carob and coconut hits your nose first, followed immediately by dates, and something sweet and caramel-like, with a hint of vanilla. Then in the background, faintly, there's a whisper of powdered cocoa, and the tiniest trace of chocolate. So I see why they didn't put the word "chocolate" in the title of this tea, but rather "cocoa." It smells wonderful, sweet and inviting, and the taste is just as delicious as the aroma, and it matches what you would expect from the aroma, too -- although the taste is not as strong as the fragrance, unless you brew it double strength, but even single strength it is still a very enjoyable cup. Note that this tea does contain a little caffeine and also a few calories, unlike the other chocolate teas in the collection -- but it is arguably the best. Also note that ROT carries an "Almond Coconut Macaroon" Red Tea that tastes absolutely nothing like a macaroon, ironically -- that one only tastes of almonds and dough. If you're looking for a warm, sweet, strongly coconut tea, look no further than this yummy Coconut Cocoa!

I love brewing a strong half cup and adding milk. If I want something a bit sweeter, I add a drop of International Delight Coffee Creamer (Hershey Chocolate Caramel flavor). YUM!!!

I think this tea is pretty good but I think too, when you're used to a "certain" chocolate flavor or texture, something new takes getting used to. I would agree with other reviewers that it's closer to a cocoa than the taste of hot chocolate. But, that may vary based on what you decide to add to it, if anything. I used one tea bag per cup and one packet of stevia. I am sure that after finishing this cannister of tea, I'd be inclined to go buy another.

But shame on me for not noticing that it has barley in it - since I suffer from celiac disease, gluten really matters to me! The ingredients are listed, I just didn't pay attention since I never expected gluten to be in a tea. So, for flavor - I'd give it 7 stars, but for my health it doesn't even score a 1....

LOVE LOVE it. Everyone I've had try it, loves it too. Its good with milk, good for ice tea, good for a hot drink, good when you're feeling hungry for no reason, good anytime!! It also calms my stomach. And there's almost no caffeine it in so you really can drink it anytime. I also put a bag in my coffee in the morning just to give my coffee a coconut flavor, that works so much better than putting any kind of syrupy flavor in your coffee. I got my whole family a can! But when I diet I need something that feels special, so I tried the sample pack. Just steeped my first cup of Coconut Cocoa -- no added sweetener or milk. The coconut aroma is strong and the flavor is just right. There's not much cocoa flavor, but I'm pleased and surprised to say that I like it anyway :) I will recommend this to friends, and I will purchase again.

I bought this one and the Red Velvet and I prefer this one MUCH better than the Red Velvet. It's very tasty and satisfying. After dinner, if I'm craving a sweet, I make a cup of this tea, add a bit of milk and forego the sugar for a shot of Amaretto! I've put liqueur in coffee before, but never in tea, however, this tea is so rich it just goes perfectly! This mix is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!

Then, of course, when you add the pure cane sugar and fresh cream, it goes from very good, to absolutely wonderful. Yes, this flavor is worth it. The only thing I noticed, however, is that it really takes two tea bags to get the flavors kickin the way I like. One tea bag per small cup isn't enough to flavor the drink adequately. I use two tea bags for about 10 oz drink.

The flavor is very rich - the coconut is the first thing you taste, followed by a mellow, almost "roasted" cocoa undertone. At first, it seemed a bit light to me, but after adding a touch of Equal, the flavor rounded out and was quite satisfying. Normally I prefer a dark cocoa made with milk, cocoa and sugar, sometimes with a splash of coconut liquor. This is a perfect substitute for a cozy drink that does not leaving feeling like you are missing the rich creaminess of hot cocoa. I drink it at work or before bed - it doesn't matter when. I could drink it all day! I can't wait to try ROT's other chocolate blends.

Immediately when I was given it the smell, OH MY GOD THE SMELL! Magical! The taste is even better. It's a strong blend of coconut and chocolate that compliment each other perfectly! If you are a fan of coconut, tea, and chocolate, you MUST try this. When it's hot and steamy the scent just surrounds you and you can't help but feel so happy! I love sipping this during the colder months and taking it with me to campus during class or when I'm studying and doing homework. Remember, this is not a weak coconut taste by any means (also, the taste is NOT NOT NOT artificial at all), so if you love coconut (I am a huge coconut fan), do yourself a favor and GET THIS.

After making my first cup, at home, I realized I needed to use 2-bags in order to acheive the same restaurant results. This could be a rather expensive habit, so I just might stick with diet hot chocolate (25 calories) and add a splash of coconut flavoring! Also, it is NOT caffiene free, however, the content is very low...For those ultra sensitive to caffiene, this tea may not be a good choice.

I would make a cup and add some blue diamond almond breeze almond and coconut milk blend to it. When it started getting so hot - I stopped drinking it for awhile and then I thought why not make this into an iced tea drink. So I pour 6 oz of boiling water over the tea bag - let it steep for 7 minutes - then put it in the refrigerator with the teabag still in it until it cools down enough to pour over ice. I put Ice in a 16ox glass - take out the teabag and pour the tea over the ice. I then fill the glass with the blue diamond almond/coconut milk. What a refreshing, delicious, thirst-quenching drink for the summer - you have to try it. LOVE THIS TEA

My first reaction was "yuck!", and I put it on the shelf for a while before trying it again. I bought it out of every store that I found it in and then it was gone...discontinued! I was very to find that Republic of Tea has just renamed it and changed the package. It is so delicious. I put a little cream in it and it is better than hot cocoa, with a more interesting taste. I will always have it in the house, now.

I looked at the bag, and it barely had half a teaspoon of tea per bag, which is astounding considering the price of the tin. It is not enough to adequately flavor a mug of water. Please, Republic of Tea...your tea is very expensive. If I have to use two bags per cup, it becomes ludicrously expensive for what you get. This is either a quality control issue, or profit squeezing at the expense of us sippers.

It really does smell nice; but I can't get over the fact that the predominant taste is hot water. I thought that there would be some sort of tea involved in the mix (red tea, etc.) but it is entirely an herbal mix. The other ingredients are simply too weak next to the coconut, which is pretty weak itself! I'm a big Republic purchaser; and I feel sorry to be so tough on this tea. But I wanted other buyers out there to know. Just educating other Tea Citizens ;) Next time, I'm going to purchase the Almond Macaroon instead. You may want to consider opting for that one, too!

But if you like chocolatey or fruity tisanes as well, then give it a try! I brew this tea for a fairly long time (5 minutes), sometimes using two tea bags for fuller flavor, and then add a tiny bit of sugar and a good sized amount of milk. Then I share it with my two year-old son; he thinks it's second only to hot chocolate in terms of deliciousness. Both the chocolate and the coconut flavors come through strongly, and the addition of milk makes the entire cup taste like chocolate coconut milk. Yum!

It is mentioned as being "thick" so I expected it to be almost over powering, but instead found its flavors to be almost completely watered down, especially when adding milk. I have to say I am somewhat disappointed considering it was my first cup of tea from the Republic brand.

I drink it with a little stevia & a splash of light cream. A great lower-cal sub for indulgent hot cocoa, but with bonus of subtle, but complex interplay of flavors all the way to the bottom. Only wish you'd make this a full 50-bag tin, &, if seasonal, please extend the season.

The flavor is the perfect mixture of chocolate and coconut. I add 4 sugar cubes to this, and it is heavenly. I tried the Red Tea Chocolate teas, and they are awful! Whatever is used to make the Red Tea overwhelms the chocolate taste, and just ruins it. this on, and the Double Chocolate are wonderful.

However, Coconut Cocoa is delightful as a dessert tea. I think the carob, chicory and dates blend very well with the cocoa. I make a Chocolate Chip Date Cake that has a similar flavor to this tea. Now I want to try all the rest of the cocoa teas, so I ordered a sampler box. My summer favorite has been Hibiscus Pineapple Lychee, so I think Cocoa Teas are a nice change for winter. I'm surprised that I actually like these sweeter teas since I usually drink Oolong, like Ti Kuan Yin.
