It seemed like I was drinking hot water with a little cream. So then for the next cup I used less water, same steep time, with cream. It may have slightly more flavor but not much. There was an aftertaste in my mouth of the caramel / vanilla - so the flavor is there, but very muted.

I'd love to say I sip one glass daintily for most of a day, but I actually gulp it down much of the time. IT IS FABULOUS and gives me a nice morning caffeine jolt without the coffee jitters. There is a clean caramel & vanilla flavor, that doesn't taste artificial at all. It is reminiscent of a caramel frosted cupcake, in the best way. Like dessert you can have all day long, without any calories or guilt. As an added bonus, if you forget to remove the tea bag in a timely fashion, it doesn't get overbrewed or bitter. This is especially helpful to the mom of an active toddler who can pull me off track sometimes.

I thought it tasted so bad that I returned it, and I was nervous about trying another Cuppa Cake tea. I'm so glad I took another chance, and this does not have stevia in it. I do add sugar or honey and milk, and I love how it tastes. I wish they had a caffeine free version of it. It smells great and tastes just as good!

He was looking for something other than water to drink and asked if he could try some of the variety of tea that I keep on hand. He looked over RoT's website and asked me to include a tin of Carmel Vanilla in my next order. As soon as he opened the tin, he was certain he had made a good selection based on the aroma alone. When he actually drank it, he just had that opinion confirmed. He loves the flavor and smell and it makes him feel like he's having something sweet and treat-like -- even though he is not putting any sugar in it. He cannot stop raving about how good this is.
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars This was my first Cuppa Cake tea; I really like the Cuppa Chocolate series of teas so I was hoping this would be similar. I was not disappointed. It really is a bit like having a yummy piece of cake in a cup. I drink it with oat milk, and it satisfies that need for a little dessert something. My only dislike is that this is a caffeinated tea, and I tend to want to drink this sort of tea as a dessert tea, late in the evening, when I do NOT need any caffeine. So I drink this less frequently than I would otherwise, because by the time I think to reach for it, I'm often not in the mood for a caffeinated tea. A minor flaw.

Usually when I have tea I don't think it takes very much like it's intended flavor unless it's fruit but this was great and I'll definitely be buying it again!

This Caramel Cuppa Tea has single-handedly turned me into a tea enthusiast and a loyal Republic of Tea citizen! I generally drink my tea straight. With this tea, that did not work for me. It felt like there was something missing. I took a cue from a local coffeehouse and tried it "London fog" style, by covering the tea bag in espresso and then hot steamed milk and letting it soak a good 5 minutes. WOW! It is DELICIOUS! This style also helped give me an initial kick of energy followed with a longer lasting, low key and calm energy for a bit after. Love it!

She loves drinking it in replacement of a sweet snack. My grandma tried it with just sugar, no milk, and she said it was still very good and that it is a great dessert tea. My aunt hasn't tried it yet, but she is a fan of tea lattes so I think she will enjoy this tea. I also stole a tea bag to try, and I loved it so much that I think I might have to buy a tin for myself so that I don't keep swiping my mom's! Highly recommend this tea if you are a fan of the sweeter stuff.

No matter what they try to do, I can taste an unpleasant aftertaste. So.... I was super happy to find one of them without stevia and it was remarkably good! The tea smells exactly like yellow cake with caramel sauce. The base tea isn't too overpowering and the caramel and vanilla are nicely balance. It doesn't taste like cake, meaning it's not cloying it fell like you're drinking syrup. I usually drink from a large mug so I recommend using two tea bags, but use water just off the boil and steep for no more than 4 minutes or the tea will begin to get bitter. I don't like to add sugar, so maybe you could steep longer if you're adding milk and sugar. I think it is delicious as a breakfast treat in addition to being a guilt free dessert!

I do prefer my tea a bit stronger, one sachet may be fine for everyone else. I will definitely order this flavor again. A cozy chair, a good book, a biscuit or two and a nice cup of caramel tea. Two things I wish for… first, a decaf version for the end of the day, and second, a little stronger flavoring so not needing to use as many tea bags. I realize the sachets are designed for 6oz of H2O and most mugs are much larger than that, but I still need to add an extra sachet in addition to the 1 to 6oz H2O to get a good strong flavor.

Recently, I had an issue with some of the Caramel Vanilla bulk tea I had purchased (first time I had had an issue!). I reached out to customer service. Very quickly they scheduled a pick up of the product. They picked it up on Thursday, and by the following Wednesday I had the tracking number for my replacement. I love the Republic of Tea product (with the Caramel Vanilla being my absolute fav!), but their customer service has made me a customer for life!

I've tried about 30 teas here, and this is my favorite. It needs nothing added to it, and I let it steep until it's ready to drink. Sometimes, I don't even take out the tea bags. Never bitter the longer you leave it in, the better.

I'm dieting so I wanted to find a tea that would replace desert, if possible. While this isn't at all like a cookie or piece of cake, it does help when I want to eat something sugary. I used 2 tea bags when brewing because I noticed the flavor is subtle. I also add a teaspoon of sugar and milk. I would probably buy it again, but it doesn't compare to the Chocolate Cuppa Tea's.

Due to personal preference, I steeped my tea bag for 5-8 minutes (instead of the recommended 3 minutes), added a splash of milk (which is recommended), and a bit of honey. It was delicious, creamy, and very easy to drink!

It tastes nothing like cake, vanilla, Carmel. It's like a hint of a terrible shortbread cookie. Don't waste your money. Head to ginger peach or vanilla almond.

I really don't taste the vanilla of the caramel. There doesn't seem to be any distinct flavors to this tea. It's more of a muddle. It is however a very smooth tea, just nothing special. I will not purchase this tea again. In the meantime I am blending this tea with other teas that could possibly enhance it such as the Jerry Cherry.

This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars I got this tea for my birthday and the first cup just tasted like a really good caramel vanilla black tea, but the second and so forth cups I could taste the cake flavor a little more. It isn't sickeningly sweet, but I do wish it came in caffeine-free rooibos form because that would make it even more smooth and amazing! It is also a flavor I would love to drink at night curled up in a blanket but unfortunately I can't do that because of the caffeine. I drink it at work for a mid-shift caffeine boost. I usually burn my tongue because I am too excited about the taste to wait! Will be buying more after my tin runs out, or trying one of the other interesting cuppa cake flavors.

The tea was rich and smooth- just like cake! It's good for sitting back in the evenings and relaxing with this tea. I like well enough plain, but it is amazing with a bit of unsweetened almond milk. I definitely will be buying again, as this tea satisfies my cravings without calories!

When I first bought it I expected something that would taste like the vanilla almond tea, except maybe with a smol bit of blueberry for taste. I was wrong. This tates like yellow cake! Alone it's pretty good, but if you add a lil' sugar and creamer it gets into the dangerously good level. This tea has it's own specific taste that I can't really explain, other than it tastes a bit like cake batter but not so that it's overwhelming.

It tastes much better than other vanilla caramel teas because it has blackberry leaves and carob in it, which change the flavor completely. It has helped me stay away from sugary drinks. There is only a subtle difference between this and the Downton Abbey Mrs. Patmore's Pudding Tea.

Since it's a black tea, it is heavier and I typically only drink it in the mornings, leaving the lighter and decaf teas for afternoon. Has sweet tones of vanilla and caramel in it. Sure, it could be just a desert tea but I drink usually one cup every morning with 2 tbs of heavy cream and 1 tsp of coconut oil every morning and I could not be happier with it. It has just the right amount of vanilla without being overly powerful, the right amount of caramel without being too sweet and just enough caffeine to get my day started.

I prefer that they be served either hot or chilled. This has a wonderful sweet flavor that does not require much additional sweetener if any. The flavor seems to be better when chilled to me.

Sometimes I wish all teas had stronger flavor, but I choose not to add cream or sugar which I realize probably enhances the flavor even more. Nevertheless- enjoy this tea.

It has such a rich taste, but is not too heavy or spicy like some dessert teas. I suspect it would probably be good chilled too.

The tea, while leaving an aftertaste of vanilla and caramel, and smelling quite delicious, didn't exactly taste as vanilla/caramel as I had hoped. Only 1 tiny complaint -- this is the kind of tea you want to drink for dessert after dinner, so I wish it were decaf, suitable for drinking in the evening.
