I do understand why many people like this; it is very fruity, and if you like concord grape aroma and flavor, then I encourage you to try it. I was hoping for a more subtle and earthy berry flavor. I smelled grapes when I opened the can and turned it over to look at the ingredients. There it was, "organic grape flavor" - its placement at the end of the ingredient list all out of proportion to its predominance in the aroma and flavor profile. Still, I gave it two tries (for the elderberry benefits) and also tried (unsuccessfully) to mix it with other teas to tone done the grape. The flavor mixing at ROT is usually balanced and nuanced, even brilliant at times. But this tea was misnamed. It should have been called "Grape Flavored Tea with Elderberries." Sadly, it went in the trash.

Recently in an order I received samples of Organic Elderberry Tea and Peach Bellini, and both were lovely and I ordered a tin of each. I was really looking forward to the Elderberry because it had been so fragrant and flavorful. You could really taste and small the boys of the Elderberry. When the tins arrived I used a bag of the Elderberry for my morning cup. I was so disappointed I almost tossed both tins. The next morning I tried the Peach Bellini to find it as lovely as the sample had been, so I committed to trying the Elderberry again the next morning. Knowing I make a big cup of tea, I decided I'd try two bags to see if more was better. Here's the issue. The sample had been aromatic and flavorful. The tea in the tin tastes and smells like a cheap big tea brand that may or may not have been carried past some Elderberry. There are plenty of teas I've loved from RoT, sadly this doesn't appear to be one. But I'm enjoying a wonderful cup of Peach Bellini as I wrote this.

For me I found Organic Elderberry too wine-flavored - slightly sour and bitter for my taste buds. I think if you love red wine this tea would be appealing - to me the scent is very red wine-like. I wonder if I'd like this one better if the added flavor were blackberry instead of grape. It's better when I add some sweetener but not enough to buy again.
