The first one is still going strong after many years, but I wanted to use that one as my travel pot (I won’t go anywhere without my teapot!). This new, slightly redesigned version is even better and I had no complaints about the first one.

Plug it in, turn it on, get a rapid boil. No need to overcomplicate things and gives me plenty of boiling water for tea and food like instant noodles! The cord does not fit into the notch in the base however. I'm not sure how it ended up like that. I took a pair of bolt cutters to the base to trim off some of the excess plastic, and it sits comfortably flat now!

It heats up quickly reaching the boiling point. It pours easily without dripping. Stays hot for a long time and has the added security of the automatic shut off. It has a lovely appearance and is simple to clean. The price is well worth the purchase.

I don't believe we put any more work on it than an average person, 3-4 boils a day? Anyway, when it worked it was great, but I would hope to get more longevity out of it.

This shopper rated the product 1 out of 5 stars I love this tea pot but can not use it which is very disappointing. The first one I received as a Christmas present and used it daily. By about April I noticed that pieces of the metal from inside the pot were flaking off near the heating element. I contacted Republic of Tea and then sent me a new one. Same thing has happened and now the inside even shows rust. I empty the pot completely each time I use it and leave the lid open so it doesn't dry and doesn't have water sitting in it. Very sad to see this flaw and disappointed that I can no longer use it.

Heats quickly, easy to clean, and doesn't take up too much counter space. Two very minor issues are that the cord is thick and not very flexible and you need to pour slowly or it will drip around the lid. All considered, I really like it.

I like its aesthetic stainless steel, small footprint on the counter, compact shape, and precision pour spout. I do wish it were a little quieter (it's not louder than my old one, but I was hoping for quieter), were cooler to the touch after heating, that the lid stayed up when you dump out the old water over the sink (requires 2 hands), and had a 6-cup capacity vs 5 cups. Overall, it works well, looks great in my kitchen, and was a good price. I'm satisfied.

This is my favorite even though I've only had it a short time. The first and second were plastic, very serviceable and I used the second for so long that the plastic began to degrade. I replaced that with a very pricey and highly rated Stainless steel because it had the shape spout suggested for the pour-over coffee I drink in the morning. I was never really pleased with it because steam sometimes burned my hand and it dribbled around the lid. I recently bought this model. So far, it's the fastest and easiest to use that I've found. no escaping steam, no dribbling. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

We gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the metal gets very hot. Our old teapot was plastic so we didn't need to worry about potentially burning our fingers. This isn't a problem for us because we don't have young children in the house but when little ones visit we have to be more careful.

Also, it gets the water super hot, helps my tea steep faster. Best thing, its not huge, just the right size for my counter and makes approx. 8 cups of water.

It has a streamline flat outer heat base, and handy button right on its rubberized handle. It is a perfect size for two people yet doesn't take up much of my limited counter space. This is my favorite thing that I bought in the last year.
