First off, the chocolate flavor is a bit overwhelming, and I prefer The Republic of Tea's more subtle chocolately teas, like the ones in the Cuppa Chocolate Tea line. The other thing is that this tea requires a higher tea bag-to-water ratio than the others that I have tried (except for the Burnout Blocker tea, another mushroom-based adaptogenic tea), along with a longer steep time, in order to fully extract the flavors.

Full discrepancy, I am a huge chocolate/cocoa lover in tea but not in chocolate candy so if you are a big chocolate candy lover this may not be for you but I adore it. I received a sample of this tea with my order and purchased a cannister. It has a wonderful chocolate flavor and because it is an herbal tea, I can drink a cup of Restore and Rest without it interfering with normal sleep; the adaptogens from the reishi actually promote a sense of calm and reduce stress. This is a wonderful postprandial dessert tea. I also enjoy a warming and comforting cup of Restore and Rest with a little stevia and splash of (any type of) milk later in the evening, when I'm craving a little something sweet, especially on chilly fall/winter nights; it's like having a cup of cocoa, with added benefits.

On days when I'm not feeling quite the thing, I will make a cup using a teabag of Reishi Cocoa and a teabag of Peppermint Chocolate (the smooth red rooibos version not the Peppermint Bark green rooibos version). It blends really well with the Peppermint Chocolate as the steeping time is the same.

This morning I tried Restore and Reset, it's nicely balanced, mild chocolate with an earthy (not at all mushroomy) flavor. I think the roasted dandelion root perfectly bridges the flavor of the reishi and the cocoa. I tasted it first and thought it would go well with a touch of honey. Love it.
