I love their apple cinnamon cider tea and I love chai tea. I had high hopes for this one but it was not for me. I don’t usually put sugar in my tea so maybe it’s too sweet for my liking, but it also reminded me a sweetener substitute taste.
A spicy sweet blend of apples and chai spices, a sweet change from the average chai
I ADORE this tea!! I’m incredibly picky, and it’s one of my fall go-to’s every year now! I like adding a little caramel and a touch of cream to make it extra cozy!
strong chai flavor, good tea to drink for the fall. don't get a huge taste of the apple but this tea is still great
This is such a cozy and yummy tea! I love that I can have all the flavor without the caffeine. One of my favorites--I'm so glad I discovered it!
Republic’s Apple Pie Chai has sweet and spicy notes. It is very pleasant as a stand alone tea, a companion to sweet breads or with a small spoon of honey stirred in.
I loved the sample so much I went on auto delivery. But what happened? My first tin arrived and where was the apple? Had a dusty no-flavor flavor. I buy a lot here and this is the first one I really don’t like. Have to cancel my monthly delivery.
Good version but isn't as apple forward as I'd hoped
I'm hit or miss on rooibos, and this tea really hits the spot! I prefer it iced. I'd say the flavor of more apple pie than chai but delicious all the same.
A very different kind of chai, but great taste.
I was really excited for this one but the smell and taste are just off. There’s barely any taste of apple and it’s very artificial tasting. Really disappointed with this one
not really happy with the flavor. it didn't really taste like apple and the aftertaste was kind of grainy.
I’ve been drinking this tea for YEARS! It’s a fall favorite of mine. Personally, I like it cold or hot. If you like apples and chai seasoning, you will love this tea! Sometimes I add a splash of apple cider & cinnamon or cardamom for extra flavor.
Taste like dirty water.
Love this flavor. Such a great twist on the traditional chai flavor profile. Always keep it in stock and drink it daily.
Taste really great like apples
A very soothing, calming chai that doesn't try to force you awake. It's actually much milder than the scent in the tin might indicate and I wish it was stronger, but being a rooibos base you can get away with steeping it longer to help with that. Benefits from a small splash of milk, the creaminess acts as a good base for the apple pie flavors to come through.
Enjoyable but just occasionally.
I love this tea! It has a sweet apple pie flavor with just a hint of warmth from the spices. I add natural maple syrup to it to amplify the flavor profile, and it is AMAZING!
A pleasant, cheerful flavor. Since I like strong flavor, I may use 2 teabags next time.
This is probably Republic of Tea's best autumnal flavor, simply because it is delicious and so versatile since you can drink it all day long and I love that almost all of the ingredients are organic! This is better than their Pumpkin Spice Chai in my family's opinion.
This is a nice tea. It could be a tad more balanced with the apple flavor, but it is still very pleasant for a nice afternoon pick-me-up.
Absolutely delicious and perfect with a splash of oat milk! They also left me extra samples and I was more than happy to try them all!
A perfect warm fall cup of tea. Reminds me of a lovely bowl of apple cinnamon oatmeal.
Thoroughly enjoyed the flavor. Was reasonable on the price. The whole family enjoyed it.
I’ve been a loyal Republic of Tea drinker for years and even subscribe to a few of my absolute favorite flavors. I was let down, however, by the Apple Pie Chai Tea. I expected a warm chai base with subtle apple and cinnamon notes, but the licorice root dominated the flavor and didn’t blend well with the other ingredients. Since I usually enjoy both chai and apple pie flavors, this was a surprise. If you’re sensitive to licorice root, I’d recommend skipping this blend, though I’ll happily stick with my other Republic of Tea favorites.
Delicious tea
This is my favorite type of chai that rebublic of tea makes and they do some great ones. this tastes just like spicy apple pie, which is good.Great with or without sugar and soy milk or milk.
Not too impressed with this flavor, kinda disappointed actually. I was expecting something completely different. Not much apple flavor. I do love chai tea but this version leaves little to be desired.
This has some strong flavors and enjoyable. Another great no caffeine option. Only drank hot not tried it cold as of yet.
It's the perfect fall tea you can have any time of the year. The spice is just perefct!
I bought this because I loved the apple pie spice at Christmas, this is no substitute. I like the apple pie flavor but the other comes through and does not compliment the apple pie. Don't like it at all!
I LOVE fruit based flavored teas, and so pleased with my purchases.
Nice tea for an evening
What a dud. There's too much licorice flavor, and my cup of tea just tasted like medicine. I did not let it steep for more than five minutes (probably closer to four), and I suspect it would have been even worse if I had forgotten to remove my teabag.
This tea is misnamed. There is no hint of apple in it. The taste of cardamom overwhelms the other flavors and there is a cardamom aftertaste that truly lingers. I do not like cardamom enough to drink this tea.
My daughter surprised me with a tin of Apple Pie Chai & it has become one of my favorites. It was only available in the grocery store for a short time so I’m glad to see it’s available online. Everyone’s tastes are different but this has a warm apple taste & I add a bit of honey, which makes it a great drink for a cold day.
This is my absolute favorite tea anytime but especially in the evening when I'm at home relaxing before bedtime. Sometimes I add an extra cinnamon with it to add a little extra spice.
Overall okay, but not the strongest flavor, and I prefer Chai with caf. Would be more stars if these things were changed.
Only average. I really enjoyed your mulled apple spice tea. It had a wonderful flavor. Please consider making it available all year as it would taste great chilled. It has a better flavor than your hot apple cider tea.
This tastes nothing like apple or chai. I'm sorry, but it's really terrible. The one positive is that it seemed to help my cough and scratchy throat, which is the only reason I'm not throwing it away.
I was so excited to try this sample but I didn't personally think there was much apple or chai flavor. I decided to add a slash of apple cider I had on hand which completely transformed it to yummy.
I’m very gone through two containers of this stuff and I can’t get enough! It’s delicious with a bit of torani caramel syrup and apple cider!!
This is the worste tea I've ever had. I loved the pumpkin pie chai so I decided to try this one. It tastes like what I imagine potpourri would taste like.
I am very infrequently a fan of Rooibos, to my eternal regret. It's a great shame of mine, as it's a very common ingredient in many herbal mixes to add a strong body to an otherwise softer flavour profile. Needless, then, to say that my absolute adoration of this tea is rather remarkable given that it does not hide the flavour of its Rooibos, but rather lets it take center stage amidst its sweet and spicy compatriots. This delightfully sweet blend is one of the most comfortable ways one can ring in a fall evening.
I had a hard time deciding if the new Pumpkin Pie Chai or this Apple Pie Chai were my favorite, so I'll just have to order both :-) Yummy! I can't wait for the cooler weather to enjoy this by the fire pit!
The tea itself isn't bad, but it's a little one-dimensional. I was hoping for a little more of the spice from the chai to come through, but it has a stronger vanilla flavor than it does apple/cinnamon. It would be good if mixed with a regular chai tea bag.
This is certainly a uniquely flavored chai herbal tea. It has notes not often associated with chai but more reminiscent of Republic of Tea's Cuppa Chocolate Tea line. Not my favorite version of chai that Republic of Tea offers but certainly not the worst tasting tea.
Too strongly cinnamon flavored and not enough apple. I much prefer the hot apple cider tea. Maybe the two would be good mixed and I may give that a try.
There are so many teas that I love, it’s a challenge for me to play “favorites.” So when my teenage son had his wisdom tooth pulled and his dentist recommended using a wet tea bag on the area to help stop the bleeding, he was really upset. Not being a tea drinker, I knew just what to give him…a bag of Apple Pie Chai. Well…he fell in love with the flavor so much so that he asked for more. He kept saying that it “dried out” and he needed another one. Eventually, I gave him my canister and never heard from him again. He ended up using half a can! We we finally had a chance to talk about it, he said that the tea was, “the closest taste to my homemade apple pie that he has ever had before” -that is a real compliment!
I love this tea blend. It tastes like fall. It really brings the flavor of apple pie.
I really enjoy this tea. So sweet it’s surprising there’s no sugar!
It tastes exactly like apple pie.
This is hands down my favorite tea during the cold months of the year. It's pure comfort in a mug.
I enjoy the flavor of this one. I use honey or some agave sweetener. A splash of milk too. I usually let it steep a few minutes longer and leave the bag in as I drink.
Sometimes fruit flavored tea can go all wrong, so I was very wary of this apple flavor. But it turned out to be just wonderful! In my opinion, the taste of the apple and the chai do not overpower you or each other. The smell of the spicy apple is comforting and reminiscent of childhood and apple pies on the window sill.
It really does taste like apple pie. I love Chai tea & apple tea so gave this a try. Oh my, it is excellent. Just received my second canister, yum!
This tea did not smell nor taste like apples or chai. I had high hopes for a warm apple pie smell and a taste of chai and or pie. It was the first container I smelled when it arrived and it was so off putting it took new a couple of days to try. Even steeped it smelled and tasted nothing like you would think.
I really like this tea, especially with just a drop of honey added.
This is great for a little pick me up.
When I want a caffeine-free chai (which is a rare want) I sometimes reach for this. But rooibos isn't my fav so this tea often gets neglected.
The tea smelled (and tasted) like burnt pie crust. Apple and cinnamon tastes weren't strong. I like every other RT chai. This one was not for me.
I was so happy to find this tea again, I forgot just how much i love it! It's so great by itself or paired with a splash of vanilla cream.
I did not think I liked Chai teas. I did like this Apple Pie Chai. I will buy more of this one and maybe try some other Chais.
To be completely honest I do not have a history with chai. I found this tea missing the apple flavor and bitter tasting.
I like chai and am always looking for a caffeine free one. The taste was not chai like and actually somewhat unpleasant. I will say my wife liked it so 3 stars
I love to curl up with a cup of this tea on a cold day. It warms you from the inside out.
Purchased to add to my chai collection. Subtle notes of apply and cinnamon goes so nice with other tea and even coffee.
Not a lot of Apple Pie Flavor, just ok.
I expected a bit more apple flavor, but was pleasantly surprised by the subtleness of flavors. It has beautifully mild chai spices with a hint of apple. Great afternoon tea!
I have been enjoying this tea, but unfortunately the apple flavor is very weak. I had to add some apple juice to have the right amount of apple with the spice to taste like apple pie/apple cider. With apple juice and some cane sugar added it tastes great. I liked a sample of the mulled apple spice flavor better.
Relaxing, warming, perfect for conversational afternoons with a friend.
Our family have been enjoying this non-caffeinated Chia tea this fall. It's excellent with a bit of honey and a splash of almond or coconut milk.
I love this tea. For me it is the perfect end to the day.
This is the perfect tea to end my day. I love chai and apples so to me it's a great combo.
Crisp, great spices...a wonderful way to warm up this winter! Ordering a few most now.
This is one of the best Caffeine free tea I ever had. I constantly come back to it and never get tired of its flavor.
We've purchased this a few times, and really enjoy it.
This is one of my favorite teas ever, and perfect for a treat! Add some milk and it's perfect!
This tea smells lovely once it's brewed, and it tastes like a chai should, but it's not my favorite. I don't care for the stevia in the mix as I'd prefer to add my own sweetener.
I loved this tea's warm but not overpowering flavor. Though this tea did not conform to my expectations of chai as I am used to drinking masala chai, it was pleasant but much lighter spice than standard chai.
I 1st bought this tea after trying a sample at a separate retailer. The sample included honey in it and I thought it was delicious. After trying it at home without the extra sweetener, it tasted a bit odd, but adding honey really does bring out the flavor- would recommend, just don't leave out a bit of honey for best flavor!!
I originally purchased this tea from World Market. I enjoyed it so much but when I went back for more, it was sold out. I decided to look it up on-line, found it here and now I am here to stay. Now I can try EVERY flavor and have them shipped directly to my door.
My daughter loves this tea, and it is perfect for any time treat because there is no worry of caffeine disrupting your sleeep. We drink it morning and night.
Republic of Tea stupidly added Red Roibos to a perfectly wonderful tea—Apple Pie Chai. I won't be ordering this again.
My husband LOVES this tea. He has more of a sweet tooth. I found it to be too sweet and kind of perfumy flavor so I didn't prefer it.
Instead of all the calories of apple pie, this tea is very satisfying when you want something sweet.
This is the most tasteless tea I have ever had, no flavor at all.
I usually love every ROT tea I try. This is the first one I really dislike. I'm not sure what it tastes like, but to me, definitely doesn't taste like apple pie or chai.
Ordered this last year and loved it. Ordered again and seems different. Not sure about the flavors this time around.
Great flavor
This tea has a strange taste, almost chemical like.
This tea is not as spicy as I would expect from a chai it tastes mostly of roobios and licorice to me.
NOT up to ROT usual standards! Strange smell and taste. Doesn't taste like apple pie nor it's spices. The only flavor I can make out is licorice, What happened here? My significant other didn't like it either. Unfortunately, it's going in the trash.
This is a fun idea, but I feel like the chai is very subtle. I would like it if the flavor were stronger.
It did not taste good to me at all. I love most chai but this was not good. The smell was so strong that it lasted for a day after I had thrown it away. Very disappointed with it.
Quickly delivered. Tea has apple flavor, mild flavor with fall spice flavors. Enjoyable.
Five stars for the high quality…but this tea needs a new name. Baker's Street Baked Apple Tea is my best choice. This is a very mentally stimulating tea as I keep wondering what I'm drinking. It's a tea for reading detective mysteries. Chocolate is not in the ingredients but I smell cocoa at every sip. I like the tea but somehow the name doesn't match the flavor experience. The Duchess of Apple is another name daydream. The Apple & Spice orchestra as a name puts it succinctly!
No flavor is distinct. I taste no ginger, no other spice, but the tea smells faintly of apples.
This is just awful! There is no taste other than licorice. I was looking forward to tasting the warm fall spices, but that is not the case. Not chai/not apple pie
This did not taste like I expected. It's still somewhat good, but has an unusual flavor. I couldn't taste any apple pie flavor at all. I will still drink it, but will not purchase it again.
This is a great fall tea - a perfect blend of apples and fall spices. It smells wonderful and makes a great fall gift!
Apple Pie Chai is a great purchase. I added to my purchase in July for the retreat I would do this fall. The flavor of apple and spice was just the right compliment to the dessert tray of fall goodies. It is sugar free, caffeine-free, this makes it the perfect after dinner( and certainly with dessert) tea. I call it comfort in a cup!
This tea has a lovely mix of chai and apple pie goodness. To my taste, it's best with a generous amount of milk. But unless you like drinks to be very sweet then this doesn't need sugar.
This sounded so good , but the taste was not pleasing. Wondering if I can return it.
Very strong smell but the taste was...different. It had an almost alcohol or stringent after taste; not the best explanation but the closest I can come. I was hoping for more of a cider taste then what I got.
This was my first time trying this flavor, I love all things chai so I thought I would give this a try. Lots of apple flavor making this more spiced cider than chai actually but I like it. Sweet even without sugar or milk.
I'm not generally a chai fan if it isn't a latte. This one is pretty good though. Lots of cinnamon and makes you think fall. My only complaint is there is no apple in it. Why is it Apple Pie if there is no apple?
This is one of my favorite teas. It's like apple pie with extra spice thrown in. Very nice!!
Enjoy the ApplePie Chai even get my husband to drink it
Wonderful rich apple spice chai taste. Great by itself, even better with milk.
In my opinion, the other apple teas are better (such as the Apple Cider).
Not a good smelling tea. Taste like it smells. I keep wondering whether it's chemical related or something. I've tried to drink it more than once hoping that the smell would change or that the flavor would be different, but no change. The smells pops out as soon as the top comes off the can. So maybe it's more chemical related than anything else
Love the combination of flavors
After steeping 7 minutes in 6oz water the tea is a strong chai flavor with sweet apple undertones. The scent is a strong chai and apple. This tea is mildly bitter but in my opinion needs no additional sweetener. There is an odd aftertaste to it tat causes a chalky mouth kind of but isn't that off-putting. Warming and filling, but not my personal favorite - overall a 6/10 Keep an Eye out for my name, Svea, in the RoT review columns for an unbiased and straightforward appraisal of teas
Very very tasty. Warm and spicy, plenty of cinnamon taste and even something nutty to it. The apple flavor is light, but not absent. Given it's a pie chai flavor, I expected it to be complex and it did not disappoint. Definitely will be back for more of this.
I like apple. I like pie. I like chai. So this should be the best thing ever, right? Unfortunately, no. You ever walk into a Christmas store and get hit right in the face by the smell of SPICES? Well, you can experience that every day by simply leaving this tin open somewhere! Or you can use it for its intended purpose and try to drink it. You'll be like, "Wow, I'm eight feet away from my cup of tea; why on Earth can I smell it from here, and only this one particularly pungent spice?" Forget Febreeze—one cup of tea will deodorize your whole room. Okay, so it stinks. But what about the taste? It's a little apple-y, and not very chai. Whatever that overwhelming spice is doesn't register as much in your mouth, but the initial apple sweetness gives way to the bitter spice, and then it's kind of stuck in your mouth for hours. You'll be asking yourself if you really threw out the teabag or if the smell is just living forever in your sinuses. On thé plus side, you really could make your trash bin smell better if you drank enough of this. The pungency persists even at the "spent teabag" stage. Anyway, no, I can't really recommend this. I will finish the tin because to not do so feels wasteful, but I'd never buy this again.
Wonderful taste..great for unwinding after a long day!
I added maple syrup to this, and it tastes amazing! Definitely would repurchase!
The Apple Pie Chai is more that a Fall delite. I tried it hot, I tried it cold. It was so "Fall" that it soothed my October Baby soul. I can't really say anything bad. I really loved this tea. I named it "Tea of the Day" on my FB page.
I read a bunch of the reviews for this tea before purchasing it and wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews seemed quite varied from person to person. I, personally, really like the tea. It does live up to its name with sweet notes of apple & cinnamon, which obviously remind me of apple pie. The other chai notes in the tea are not very harsh or spicy but seems to just compliment the apple & cinnamon flavors.
Had the slight taste of apple pie. A good dessert tea! A strong, full, leafy taste. A good twist on an old fashioned delight!
I had a sample of this tea & enjoyed it. Interested in purchasing full size but I noticed stevia being used in some other teas, which I'm not a fan of. So I checked the ingredients prior to purchasing. What exactly is "natural apple flavor?" What's used for this flavoring? "Natural flavoring" is another red flag for me.
This apt take on the all-American favorite of freshly-baked apple pie is a perfectly-proportioned profusion of "app-ealing" fruit and warming spices. Neither cloyingly sweet nor too strongly "chai" in nature, R of T's traditional fall offering boasts an intoxicating aroma, satisfying flavor and healthy herbal ingredients. Presented in a red rooibos base, the end result is a taste-tempting tisane which serves up a lip-smacking—yet still sensible—sipping sensation that truly allows one to "have your pie and eat it, too!"
I have been a customer since ROT's inception. I very seldom do not like one of their teas. This one, however, neither tastes nor smells remotely like Apple Pie. I had high hopes for this, as Apple Pie Chai SOUNDS delicious. Needs to go back to the "drawing board" and the Kitchen to find a way to do this one over. It has a muddled and undesirable smell and will make your whole cabinet reek of this. It has no distinction in flavor either. I have added sugar and milk to make it passable. Again - the idea of Apple Pie Chai makes me warm and fuzzy - but this tea DID NOT even come close. I do wish someone would perfect this and create a version that succeeds.
Hubby loves this one, especially in the fall/winter. It's a little heavier tasting than some of the others he Loves, but still enjoys it year round
I regularly drink many types of chai and I typically find every single listed ingredient to be delicious. Strangely though, this chai has an off note that I doesn't match to any of the listed ingredients. After three separate triesI cannot get used to the strange flavor in the mix of an otherwise good chai. I'll probably waste this since I ordered it online and can't easily return it.
I enjoyed the tea very much and it reminds me of the holidays. It makes me feel warm inside!!
I live this tea, it's one of my favorites. I recommended it to a friend and she loved it too.
Bland, absolutely no apple flavor, mild spice (at best), all I taste is red rooibos (not my fave). Palatable, but not pleasant. Huge pass!
I love chai tea this is no exception. I do think it is a bit but on the spices. It would be better mixed with another tea or brewed for a shorter time than normal. I wasn't able to taste the apple over the spice very well.
This tea has a wonderful spice to it, I don't notice the apple flavor as much but still delicioua
The flavor is a little candle-esque but not bad. Better as a latte and requires very little sweetener.
I love all RoT. I don't think I've ever had one I dislike. But this was a no for me. I couldn't even finish drinking it. The flavor is so odd and not at all apple pie or chai. No idea what happened with this one, but this was a miss. Bummed because I bought the whole tin.
I wish we could choose what free sample we get . I want so badly to try some of the different teas but you always send us the same samples. please let us have a say and maybe we would order more tea.
THIS TRULY HAS AN APPLE PIE FLAVOR
I was a little apprehensive because it smelled odd, but it tastes pretty good. I don't really get an apple flavor, but the spices come through for a tasty drink.
It's definitely a taste of fall spices. Adding some cream and agave nectar helps tame down the spice.
I didn't love this one. It had an overpowering blend of spices. Didn't taste like a delicious apple pie. Just not my taste.
I expected to taste a lot of apple and chai spices but unfortunately the rooibos flavor overpowered the others. It a great idea but it wasn't my favorite.
Was initially hesitant when trying it the 1st time - as I am w/every tea I try (especially if paying like $12 lol)....but then again, how would u know if u like something or not if u don't try it at least once, right? :) And w/this tea, I found I enjoyed it well enough--was bit sweet like Apple Pie but not the most overly sweet tea (& I do add a bit of sugar, but small amounts, so I can control how sweet, since don't want overly sweet taste lol.For me, personally, its nice alternative to not having to drink a coffee or hot chocolate during those cold days! lol :) I enjoyed it - but I realize that's just me - everyone's taste is different.
I'm not enthused about chai tea, but this one sounded so good, I had to try it. And it is good! There is a complexity of flavors that is great. It's quite strong, so if you're debating whether to single or double bag it - try one first.
This tea has a great strong yet not too much flavor. I love having it in the evening with a splash of milk, to wind down, and sometimes replace dessert if I add a little maple syrup. One of my go-tos.
This is my favorite tea by TROT. It soothes my body & soul. A freshly brewed cup captivates you with the aroma of warm spices & a slight sweetness. Every sip makes you feel warm & cozy inside. I'm obsessed! Please never stop making this tea!
I've tried this tea both sweetened and unsweetened, and I find that a little bit of the right sweetener definitely brings out the true depth and complexities of the blend. It's great with a light honey, but absolutely amazing with coconut sugar. I feel as if the coconut sugar enhances the apple pie flavor of the tea.
I love the appley spice flavor of this tea. Love that it's caffeine free.
I really like it. It's light and fresh. Good flavor, great dessert tea. It has a mellow chai taste that pairs well with the light apple pie flavor. It's very yummy, difficult to fully explain the flavor, It almost reminds me of a tootsie roll. I prefer it to other apple teas I've tried. I highly recommend trying it.
When it gets cold out, and I start making myself tea regularly, The first sip of this tea and I feel like Christmas has already started in my mouth! And since it's caffeine-free, it's great for evening sipping by the fire!
Well balanced flavor, a nice afternoon tea.
I loved the idea of this flavor combination, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped. The Chai spices weren't very strong, and the apple flavor was almost nonexistent. Maybe a black tea version could support stronger flavors? I hope they work on improving this one, it could be so much better.
A nice caffeine free chai.
This tea tastes exactly as described, was not disappointed
Great flavors and decaf too. There is a slight chemical smell and taste, but my Chai loving son doesn't seem to mind.
I just loved this tea from the first sip. It's not spicy like some Chai teas but just perfect. My daughter in law tried it and asked me where I got it. She will be getting a tin for Christmas.
My first 3 cans of Apple Pie Chai were delicious. A tea bag in hot water would smell up my kitchen like a pie in the oven. Loved it. Recently ordered cans had no apple pie aroma and tasted blah. ROT exchanged my cans for another lot#. Alas, still no apple pie aroma filling my kitchen. I would recommend ROT to a friend but not for this tea.
I'm generally not a huge fan of rooibos-based teas but this blend was rather pleasant! Added some heavy cream of course and it was a perfect afternoon delight!
It gives me a headache from the odor. I tried to get a sample as I had not tried this before, since I wasn't able to I now use this tea in our bathroom. Not my cup of tea!!!
I drink chai nearly every morning (love the Republic Chai!) so I was really looking forward to a seasonal twist with the Apple Pie Chai. Something tastes off in this blend though - almost like preservatives or something not natural. A fake sort of flavoring. I've been ordering from many years and read the ingredients - all of which are organic and natural, so I know this isn't the case. I would not buy this blend again. I also wish there was a rating section in the customer accounts so I can make a note not to purchase this tea again. Still a big fan though and will contine to order other teas!
Very good, but more like a spiced apple tea than chai, which is good in its own right, even though not really "chai"
All the flavor of apple pie and chia together. It's fantastic!
I love this as a dessert alternative (or addition). It tastes enough like apple pie to satisfy my sweet tooth.
Wasn't exactly what I wanted, but my Step-Dad loves it!. If you can imagine drinking apple pie, then this is your tea!
I was SUPER excited to order this tea when I saw it in the fall catalogue. I generally love chai (and RoT overall) but when I got this one I was pretty disappointed. The front end flavor profile is nice and spicy with a hint of apple, but the back end flavor is just like straight raw oatmeal. It wasn't even "bready" like you'd maybe guess, it's just straight up feed-bag-oats. I didn't even finish the one cup I made for myself and will probably just take it to work for others to attempt to enjoy.
This tea almost has a musty chocolate taste. It is weird and not spicy enough for me. I can down a cuppa but its one of the least favorites of the Republic.
Great with eggnog and brown sugar. My goodness. Truly lovely.
I think the spices in this tea are just beautiful. The apple is subtle but add such a great flavor. I enjoy this tea with a teaspoon of honey!
I appreciate trying gimmick items, but I never actually have high expectations for them...THIS was EASILY one of my favorite purchasing decisions! The apple is so nice. Add some milk to it and you will not regret it. The strong aroma of the dry bags definitely made me a little weary because of how strong it was, but it did not disappoint at all. Wonderful purchase.
Apple Pie Chai has great chai flavor that doesn't have to steep for very long. Nice for an evening cup of tea as it has no caffeine.
Added some milk and turned this into a wonderful relaxing dessert! Must try if you enjoy apple pie
Sorry to say this one is a pass for me. I couldn't even finish the cup. I frequently purchase and enjoy many varieties from ROT, especially the spiced teas. This is the first one I did not like. The aroma has a faint apple scent and some hints of spices. I am more used to the teas having a lovely scent as they are brewing. The taste is nothing like apple and overall it has an unpleasant aftertaste. Wish I had tried a sample size before wasting my money on the full tin, but I love apple anything and it is Republic of Tea after all. This one does not live up to the Republic's great reputation. Sorely disappointed this time.
This tea is AH-MAZING! Seriously folks, it's unlike any tea I've ever had and I love tea! Especially apple teas when summertime comes to an end. This tea is an incredible blend of apple and chai spices. Silly me took it to an open house to share with friends. Next thing I knew, my tea tin was gone! It had grown legs and walked out without me! I couldn't believe it!
I love this tea! It has a hint of apple and the chai spices shine! I use two bags for a 12 ounce cup with one packet of sweet leaf stevia. It tastes like a decadent treat!!!
I drank this tea throughout last year's Christmas. It's super comforting and also goes amazing with any holiday foods! I really like the addition of licorice root since it gives it a subtle sweetness.
wonderful warm spices, perfect for fall
Apple pie chai is the perfect fall weather tea, delicious apple and spice notes, good for your soul.
I love this tea. Froth some milk and sprint a dash of cinnamon for an Apple Pie Chai latte!
I enjoy A flavorful Chai blend in cool weather. I also sniff out spiced apple aromas in Fall. So, for me, "Apple Pie Chai" tastes like a welcome call to autumn.
This tea tastes gross. You get cinnamon then a weird aftertaste. I would pass on this, highly disappointing.
I love this chai tea steeped in coconut milk. I steep it for 10 minutes to bring out the flavor.
Very strong flavor that tasted like licorice. Did not care for it at all
This Chai has a note that is a bit hard to recognize by just smelling the tea. But, after it steeps, the apple flavor comes out. Didn't know if this would be a winner - I was pleasantly surprised.
Nice level of spice with the smooth red tea and apple.
I am usually a big fan of RoT flavors, but this one is definitely a miss! This gave me no real sense of Chai - maybe just an overwhelming clove and/or fennel. I can't even get an of my herbal tea-fan friends to try it. I'm going to have to toss the lot. I suggest sticking to the caffeinated Chai oeuvre for now.
This tea makes a great rub on pork! Go to their site for the recipe!
I really wanted to like this flavor but the flavor is not what I expected. Very strong initial aroma but not really a great tasting tea. It just didn't want suit me at all
I just received my order this morning and I am enjoying a cup of the Apple Pie Chai. I love the smell of this tea and the taste is amazing!
There is something I can't put my finger on that just tastes off and not at all pleasing about this tea. I don't think we ca finish the tin. Sad.
Its okay. Smells good but just doesn't taste right to me
I bought this as a gift (which was never given). I was hesitant but curious as I'm pretty basic with my chai. This was absolutely amazing! The spices are subtle, but definitely present. It honestly feels like an Autumn hug in a mug.
Shopping with Republic of Tea is always seamless and enjoyable! My order always ships fast and the products are amazing! This particular tea is my favorite. No matter the season, hot or cold, this tea engages all of my senses and brings comfort and joy!
I have never been a fan of chai tea. I don't usually like the spicy taste that bleeds through the basic flavors. I am however a big fan of Apple Pie! I went out on a limb when I saw this Apple Pie Chai tea on the website. I figured if I didn't like it I could share it with my neighbor who loves chai. First time I tried it I ended up drinking 4 cups of it. Well done on the mix of flavors and the apple stands out with the chai background. Love it and will buy it again!
I received a sample of this one in the mail and liked it so much I ordered it. I like that the cinnamon wasn't overly sweet and had a bit of a bite to it.
Apple pie chai is one of my favorites. It has been my go-to tea for the afternoon. Love that it is caffeine-free! I add a non-dairy creamer and honey which makes it a delicious treat!
Really good, especially with a little bit of the vanilla cream honey.
Love this tea. It's perfect after dinner when I'm craving something sweet. I froth some milk with a smidgen of sugar-free vanilla syrup and sprinkle cinnamon on top to make an Apple Pie Chai Latte.
This chai brings two things I have always loved separately and blends them into one amazing cup. I can barely keep enough of it in my kitchen cabinet!
Strong artificial taste. Doesn't taste like apples at all. Second apple flavored tea I have tried, both do not taste like apples. Love republic of tea. This is a looser.
This tea is fantastically delicious! And no caffeine! Perfect in every way!
I love republic of tea, I love chai and I love apple pie. I also wanted to love this tea but I just couldn't. I have well over 20 of their teas, I can't complain about a single one! Except this one, the taste is so artificial and off putting. I tried a few cups and couldn't do it. I passed it along to a friend who says they don't mind it. Could be me! But I will say it really doesn't taste anything like apple pie(or chai).
This has easily become one of my favorite teas! It is delicious with or without a splash of milk. Love the apple flavor with the warm Chai. It is absolutely wonderful!
I've loved every tea from Republic of Tea I've had, except this one. If you've ever had tobacco flavored vape juice this stuff tastes exactly like that.
Very good tea by itself or mixed with milk
So I could drink this ALL THE TIME! MAN it's so tasty, appley goodness!
Fine is the best I can give this tea. It didn't wow me. I don't hate it but I don't really like it either. You get a hint of spice with an almost artificial other flavor you can't really put your finger on. If I didn't know what this tea was, I wouldn't ever be able to guess apple or Chai. I have definitely had much better teas from this company.
i'm a lover of caffeine free chai but I have to say, this takes the cake, or should i say pie - apple pie, that is. when i opened the can i was not sure if I liked the smell, but unsteeped raw tea sometimes smells different than it tastes. wow! the taste is amazing! i ordered one can to try it and got back on here to order 5 more cans. one of my new favorite RoTs.
This tea is perfect -- a little spice, a little sweetness. Just perfect for fall/winter.
Yes it tastes of apples and chai, but it has a bit of an aftertaste. It tastes more on the apple side than the chai side. Like it, but probably won't get again. Will try some other apple tea.
A fine mixture of chia and apple pie, YUM!
I was so excited about this tea because I love apple and chai tea but when I opened the can, it smelled of chemicals and not at all like any tea I've ever had before. Pushing through I brewed a bag thinking it was just the smell when opening fresh. And also that perhaps it was a bad batch from the other tin I purchased. No - the taste was also strange and chemically and not at all an Apple or chai taste. I had to throw most of the cup away and will be throwing out the rest as the company won't refund, just offers credits. More chemical tea? No thank you!!! Buyer beware.
This is a perfect tea! It's good hot, as is. It's good as a latte. It's good iced. Any way you want to make it, it is delicious!! Should be available year round
What a light, sweet, delightful chai. Really enjoyed it.
Apple pie is my favorite treat so I was intrigued by this tea. Purchased a can. Love it ! It is a nice treat to have for the season. Definitely recommend. â¤
I really thought I would love this tea. I love the Hot Apple Cider Tea. I love apple pie, especially the spices, and I love chai... but this tea was beyond disappointing. It did not taste natural at all. It has more of the flavor of Red Hots than real cinnamon and leaves a rather unpleasant aftertaste, possibly an artificial apple flavoring type of aftertaste but it was hard to put my finger on it. I honestly couldn't even finish my first cup and I shared the tea with family who also found it odd and unappetizing. It's really a shame because RoT has so many great teas that I love, but this is not one of them.
I adore apple cider, but sometimes I just can't drink much of it with my digestive issues. This apple pie chai gives me a lovely substitute with the taste of apples and cinnamon and other spices. It's even nice as a cold tea!
This is up there at the top oof my favorite flavored tea.
This tea has a great flavor. In fact, it is the best tasting new herbal tea I have experienced.
Love this tea- especially made into a latte:) Satisfies sweet cravings for sure.
Beautiful flavor. It's Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas all wrapped in a perfect mug of delicious flavors. My new favorite
I like the pleasant taste of apple and spice in this tea and the fact that without caffeine, I can have it in the evening and still get to sleep.
I love Chai and Apple Pie, but the combo of this tea doesn't do it for me. It tastes a bit medicinal to me. I won't likely purchase this flavor again.
A lovely cup of hot apple cider without the sticky, sweetness or the calories. Such a comfort on cold, dark, damp days.
Package was damaged during shipping. No protection in box for canister, box too big and got smooshed
I love this tea! I have ordered many different teas from here, but this one is at the top of the favorites list!
I got this expecting an apple flavor, instead it's way overpowered with cinnamon and cloves. I love my teas this company is awesome. But this flavor is very disappointing. Couldn't drink it...way too strong
Not sure about this one yet. Since it's a Chai tea, I would like to try it with milk first, before making a final decision.
I love snuggling up with my dog and enjoying a cup of this great tea. It is very relaxing and the next best thing to a piece of warm apple pie.
This is my favorite tea I've ever gotten! With some milk and a dash of maple syrup, it feels decadent like a dessert. While it's steeping I breathe in the steam and have a moment of gratitude. Something about the scent lends itself to that; it's the perfect blend of comforting autumnal scents that make you feel cozy and content. So happy this exists! Just ordered a few more for friends.
Sooo tasty and soothing on a crisp fall day.
I'm not really an apple person or a chai person, but the sample that came with my catalog smelled too good to not try. I was super impressed with the taste of this tea. It has so much flavor and the chai isn't overwhelming. I had to order a tin after that!
This is one of the best chai teas I've ever tasted! Sometimes I add just a little vanilla or plain creamer for a latte version.
Bought on a whim and it is delicious. I would drink it any time of the year
I've always LOVED chai tea. When I received Apple Pie Chai with a recent order, I actually used the tea because I wanted to get rid of the tea bag. LOL! One drink and I was telling my family, who also love chai tea, they HAD to try this tea! It's utterly delicious! I love it hot with a bit of honey. I just wish I'd ordered more than one tin recently...ordered Spiced Apple Cider by accident (Which is also very good!) instead of extra Apple Pie Chai.
I love this tea. Makes me think of Fall. It makes a great gift!
If you hadn't sent the sample, I would have never tried a Rooibis tea. I love it.
I was very excited to try this tea, because my go-to teas are chai rooibos or caramel apple (also rooibos based), and this sounded like the perfect blend of my favorite flavors. Unfortunately, the chai spices are virtually undetectable, and instead it has that fake cherry flavor often associated with cough syrup, likely from the overabundance of licorice. Not my cup of tea.
I tried the sample, very good tea! And caffeine free! My husband is an avid coffee drinker, he took a sip and likes it too.
I was surprised at how light the flavor was with this tea. Still it is a good tea and I enjoyed it alot
I'm judging this just by the free sample that came with the catalog -- and I loved it! I love chai to begin with, and the apple pie flavor (think of all those warm spices in apple pie!) made it even better. I added a very small amount of warmed 1% milk; no sweetener. I will order a can of it right now!
Horrible alcohol smell when I first opened the package. After brewing at 212 degrees and adding 1 tsp of vanilla Skinny Girl syrup because the tea had 0 flavor without any sweetener, the tea still had a cheap alcoholic apple flavor. I'm glad this was a free sample and I didn't have to waste money on this flavor.
I had high expectations for this and it did not disappoint! I also purchased the cinnamon honey to go with this and I am so happy that I did. The combination of the two is a treat!
Awesome flavor. Perfect for Fall.
I've been buying Republic of Tea products for nearly 30 years. I love trying new herb teas. This is the best one yet, I swear. Tasty and sweet without being cloying….like an apple. I hope it gets offered in bulk, I love it that much!
Sooo, it doesn't taste like apple pie to me. It doesn't taste like chai. But it is so good! I love it. I just bought two more containers so I don't run out.
This is not sweet which is wonderful! It's does have a smooth spicy apple flavor that tastes so good I want to bite it. I've been enjoying this tea daily and will be getting more.
I love a good chai latte & this is so yummy with the apple & cinnamon taste!
This was a very nice tea, I just expected a stronger taste. I added cinnamon to it, and it's just right.
I love, love Chai tea, and this takes it to the next level! Perfect cut of Yum!🌻
When I saw this online I thought, it might be a good replacement for real apple pie. This was sort of my joke about it. After I read the ingredients, I was a little concerned that the tea may not measure up. But the true test was the taste!!! It is so smooth, flavorful, and relaxing. I drink it both hot and cold. The natural sweetness is wonderful. I don't know how they do it, but they continue to hit the ball out of the park.
Needs more apple and spice......tastes Alitalia too milky.
Enjoyed the free shipping. Did have to drive an hour to purchase.
This tea is so delicious!! I recommend this to anyone who loves chi tea.
Very mild tea - slightly sweet, slightly spice flavor. I like it, but not sure it will stand out enough to buy again. Not reminiscent of apple pie, but pleasant cup of tea nonetheless.
Seems like too much Apple taste, would like more chai
I enjoy baking and matching tea with my sweet treats
This is so good. The smell and flavor are outstanding and linger on. Makes you feel like it's Fall!
Although not quite what I expected, I am enjoying this tea. The delicious aroma is the best part! The taste is pleasant but I do wish it had a stronger flavor. I bought the Caramel Apple at the same time and I prefer it for that reason.
Wow! This is soooo good!
Lovely apple aroma with a nice cinnamon spice and I love chai so this will be my go-to caffeine free tea
