The white sage is like bringing a bit of my beloved high desert inside to sit sip and have a moment, plus the pick me up of the Rooibos and Spearmint is great little boost. And the best part is the refill bag. I love the tins the tea comes in and Really Love the refills, no waste!!

I love the sage and spearmint flavors and how they combine, and I like that it is a Rooibos tea. I usually drink it in the evening after my evening salad, and I find it relaxing and soothing and uplifting.

It is perfect when you are cuddling up under a soft blanket and reading. Great with or without sweetener, I gravitate towards honey. It is a staple in my tea collection. I live in the high desert of WY and it brings my beloved desert to mind after a fresh rain!

Well, every other Republic of Tea selection in my choice filled cabinet is a wonderful option depending on my mood. So I bought a tin of Desert Sage. This tea is delightful! This winter, the combination of Rooibos, White Sage and Spearmint is perfect to warm me up, wake me up without caffeine, and carry me through the rest of the afternoon. Love it!

While I love the smell of it, the taste took a little time to grow on me. But the really weird thing about this tea is that it makes my throat feel scratchy. That has never happened before, and I wonder if it has anything to do with the sage. But it is certainly unique, and I plan to try it iced to see if it causes the same problem for my throat.

Yes, initially the flavor is quite intense, especially the sage. Admittedly, I wasn't in love with it at first, but it was quite unique so I tolerated it. Over time, though, as you come to associate it with the brilliant mental clarity it brings, you'll come to adore it, too. And the spearmint & lemongrass help with mental stimulation, as well. (There's science behind all this, by the way -- similar to how an anti-depressant/SSRI [selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor] works, the compounds in sage inhibit reuptake of acetylcholine, which is a *major* chemical messenger/neurotransmitter. This means it keeps more of it available for your brain to do all its thinkin' bidniss even gooder!) I love drinking this every morning to watch it clear away the mental fog. An excellent ally to help with focus and, in particular, sitting down to get a bunch of writing done. I love making my own blends, and to help with the flavor I feel it actually combines wonderfully with the honeybush/vanilla/turmeric flavor of the Super Digest line. Very grounding.

The appreciation did not stop there — this tea is a beautiful blend of rich, earthy tones that are so refreshing!! I shared it with two very good friends out here when I opened the can down the first time and they were SOLD as well! I taste the spearmint first and what follows is reminiscent of a eucalyptus taste, but it is the amazing blend of sage and other flavors! I will be keeping this in stock!

So on the shelf it sat until this summer. When the heat hit I decided to try it as a sun tea. Boy, was I surprised! This became my go-to drink for the summer. Highly recommend this tea.
