However, it's a little bit of work to make and takes a while (usually in a crockpot) to let the flavors come together. So, when I read that this tea was inspired by wassail, I had to try it. I honestly thought I might be disappointed - everyone has a slightly different wassail recipe, so I figured this one wouldn't quite meet my expectations. But it really delivers. The aroma of cloves and citrus is perfect. It takes me right back to memories of walking into a kitchen with a pot of wassail simmering on the stove. Flavor is great too. Overall delightful.

I made a cup this morning, and couldn't figure out what I didn't like about it, so I read the list of ingredients. The last ingredient is stevia extract. I don't sweeten my tea or coffee, so was disappointed that this one came pre-sweetened. If you like your tea sweet, then you may like this one. If not, then you may want to skip this one.

As soon as I took the first sip I was about to grab my laptop and place an order until . . . the stevia aftertaste hit me like a truck. Yuck. I just can't do it. Why must they add this to teas? We are perfectly capable of adding our own sweetener. By leaving it out the teas remain appealing to a much wider audience. Stop doing this, ROT!

Love the flavor of the cider and all the mulling spices, just can't stand the stevia. Wish they'd make it without sweetener, then we can add whatever sweetener we like. Personally I love a little honey in my tea, but each to his own. Without stevia, 5 stars. With stevia, maybe 2. I don't recommend, and won't purchase again.

If we could, we'd keep this tea year-round. We particularly love this tea in the evening. It is good with and without honey. It makes for a particularly delicious hot toddy as well. The apple flavor is forward and is not overpowered by the spices. The balance of flavors is perfect. I prefer this tea in the evening. Mulled Apple Spice Tea is gentle on the taste buds and is soft but not delicate. It is not an overpowering tea, but is able to stand on its own. The strength of the tea is perfect for this flavor combo. I generally use two tea bags in a mug or 2 bags in an 8oz mug.

Both are warming, flavorful, great for caffeine sensitive imbibers, and both can take some rum to add to the celebration. However, when my orange flavor cravings hit, I will opt for "Mulled Apple Spice Tea Bags." It is also fun to flavor cooking water, for oatmeal and polenta, with 2 bags of this tea!

Orange rinds specifically. I know mulled cider has orange in it, but it was all I could taste. I made two other people a cup of it and asked their thoughts and they also said it was extremely orangey. It's a shame, it smelled so perfect. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt that I just got a batch that went a little heavy on the orange or something, but I wanted to write the review so other people would know. If you like orange tea, it's probably perfect! Generally I absolutely love this company's teas and will be back for more, this one just really didn't do it for me.

I love the more "mulled spice" flavor but in my book it loses a point for the Stevia extract. I really wish they had left that out (why add it when it's so easy to add your own preferred sweetener??). I am very attuned to the Stevia taste and not a big fan of it, so I can't drink as much of this as I can the apple Cider tea. Hope they consider this version without the Stevia!
