I drink my teas in English tea cups, but it felt off drinking this in one. The flavors are very grown up and almost like enjoying a good scotch or something. So I bought a handleless Japanese tea cup for this tea. It's a full experience to enjoy, especially in the evening.

If I focus, I get some vanilla and fig. Then bergamot. It's definitely all there, but the whiskey is definitely the strongest. At first I found the smokey whiskey taste was too strong for me, but it is calming down as it cools and the fig is really coming out. It is a good tea. [My husband] really likes it. He says he really gets fig. We both agree we wish the "whiskey, vanilla, fig" were subtler with the Earl Grey more of a focus, but it's quite good. From 3 to 4 for me. [Husband] says 4 and if those three flavours were subtler, it would be a 5. (I rate all my teas out of 5 and this was a 4/5 for me = "great.")

I added light brown sugar and started testing to see what I can do to amplify any of the two flavors. I even added rum, tried honey and lemon, I’m done but if I were to make a combination it would be rum and fig and give it a Jamaican tea. Call it Ja Makin Me Jam!!!

The first time or two I made it I did not use the tea timer (3 minutes for black tea) and it was ok. After I started using the 3 minute timer is came out perfect. It was both sharp and muddy when I let it steep too long. But it is both mellow and complex with the correct time. I drink it either black and or with about 14g sweetened condensed milk. Drinking some right now!

Though I love fresh figs, and whiskey, I can't say I can pick out those flavors. It's more of an overall sense of layers, each layer of flavor being delicious. I drink this (as with most black teas) with only a splash of coconut milk (or sometimes the tiniest bit of half n half instead) which highlights the many flavors. I have many many teas, am known for my tea collection and decades of tea drinking, and I can say, this tea is the most unique and surprising one I own. I'll keep stocking it for myself and family/friends as everyone else who's tried it has loved it too. Thanks ROT for your fearless exploration of unexpected combos that broaden our palates.

I LIKE those flavors, however. so this is a good thing to me. Unlike a lot of flavored teas, this tea has genuine flavor, and not just a scent. I don't put anything in my tea and just drink it straight, and it is great that way. If you want a festive tea but you're tired of all the heavy clove and cinnamon flavors, this is a good choice. It tastes special without being too overwhelming. I can drink several cups of this in a row.

Right away you get the fig and a slight anise taste but there is the whiskey taste that gives this complex tea its wonderful flavor. Sadly, once the water is added, the taste just isn't there. Adding a touch of honey brings out the flavor a bit, but still not what is expected. It does make excellent iced tea when mixed with Pineapple, Lychee, Hibiscus tea.

I think the Whiskey and Fig stood out. The first sip was just the tea. It tasted similar to the smell but was more palatable than I expected. I added my vanilla creamer that I use with all my black teas. I didn't have a problem finishing the cup and will finish the tin. I feel the fig flavor stands out most. I don't really notice the burgamot, but that may be what is helping the overall flavor. Not my favorite, but I can see it growing on me. We'll see. I don't plan on reordering. While the flavor profile is very different, this tea holds the same space for me as the Pumpkin Spice black tea. It's okay, but I won't reorder a tin. I have a whiskey tea from another source that has more sweetness to it. This one doesn't have that same sweetness. The fig flavor is likely what makes it not my favorite. If you like figs, you likely will have a different opinion of this tea. I was hoping to see more written reviews before ordering, but I decided to order and try it.

I also really like the Earl grey whisky fig. I bought a he earl grey strawberry rhubarb green tea by accident (thought it was black tea) and I even like that - and green teas are usually to bitter for me. For years my mainstay favorite teas have been Wild blueberry black, vanilla almond, Jerry Cherry. I drink them with oat milk. Other teas I like are Passion fruit papaya and mango Ceylon

Not only can you smell the whiskey smell, fig , and vanilla, but the taste is exceptional. Guess I’m a tea snob now! Lol

This shopper rated the product 2 out of 5 stars Sorry, I hate to do this. The new flavor sounded so exciting, so I tried it. It is good up until the last flavor coming through on the first sip... Maybe the fig. I love Earo Grey and vanilla, but the fig made the tea dip south in flavor, the I couldn't finish the cup. Not a fan, but the orange marmalade flavored Earl Grey is so delicious!

With noticeable notes of fig and vanilla to a final whisper of whiskey, this latest Earl Grey variety is a fine choice for a cuppa although it would also be a great addition to recipes…I am thinking for both meat marinades/barbecues or even fruit compotes and other desserts which require a touch of flavor complexity. The possibilities are quite endless!

I ordered this as soon as I saw it as I have been loving the other all-day earl grey flavors. It doesn't really taste like whiskey to me but I really get the vanilla and fig flavors, and a little smoky something. I've had it both black and with milk, and for this one I think milk and a bit of sweetener of choice is the best way to enjoy. This one will definitely be added to my auto ship.
