Has a smidgen of a bite such as black pepper, so that seems to add extra warmth. Definitely fits cold weather. I tried this free sample after steeping 4 minutes, also straight, without milk or sugar.

The flavor was nice (a little bland, but I say that about every tea haha!) but the smell was wonderful! It really was a cup of comfort and joy.

I find that most tea companies only have caffeinated black tea as the base for their holiday blends, which limits when I can drink them. This is a delicious variety, that has a mellow and smooth flavor. If you’re looking for a spicier tea, you may want to use two tea bags.

After allowing it to steep, the flavor was far more citrus with an aftertaste of spices, so a bit backwards from what I expected. It was good, albeit unexpected!

If you can envision walking through the Christmas aisle at your local craft store and that tell tale scent that you can only get there, THAT is what this tea tastes like. However I couldn't drink all of it because it had licorice root in it (I have hypertension) which was unfortunate. I hope perhaps in the future they have an alternative for that particular ingredient.

I do want to try the full caffeine version as well since I did enjoy it, but I was hoping for a slightly stronger flavor, especially since I'd brewed it with a little less water than I normally would. I don't regret trying it though! I'm very happy with what it is and I think it's a decently neutral comfort tea.

I didn't know what taste to expect, so it was a very pleasant yummy surprise. All the flavors just meshed well together. My 24 year old daughter took a sip of my tea and she really liked it too. I appreciate the sample tea bag since the return on this investment (ROI) is huge because I just placed an order for this tea (decaf and caffeinated versions). Thank you so much ROT!!!

The fact that it's decaf makes it even better, so you won't have to worry whether it will keep you awake at night. I'd give it 5 stars, but spiced cider is not among my favorite flavors.

I was surprised when I saw a new decaf version. Even though there’s still a small amount of caffeine, it’s just a lovely cup of tea, so I drink it sparingly as a special treat.

Comfort and Joy is a wonderful festive tea and smells and tastes like the holidays to me, but I often avoided it in the later evening due to the caffeine content. This decaf version has the same Christmas-in-a-Cup flavor but without caffeine it is also perfect for a bedtime sip by the fire!

The ingredients don't do the flavors justice... You'll just have to try it. Of all of the samples in the holiday sampler set, this is the one my family wants to keep on hand. So convenient that the company released this decaf option! I recommend keeping this on hand throughout the cold days ahead.
