Worth its Weight in Gold

Known as the world’s most expensive spice, saffron has been used for thousands of years in European, Indian and Persian cuisine. It’s unique sweet-savory flavor and distinct aroma elevates anything it is blended with. This smooth, bright golden cup is finished with the delicate, floral notes of fresh rose petals for an ethereal sip.

The premium saffron in this tea comes from Rumi Spice, a company founded by former U.S. Army officers who served combat tours in Afghanistan. Sourced from local Afghan farms, they employ 2,000 women to hand-harvest the delicate crimson stigmas of the flowers. Committed to empowering Afghan women and its economy, Rumi reinvests back into agricultural and manufacturing infrastructure.

I smile like a flower,
not only with my lips,
but with my whole being.

– Rumi

It's a soft, mellow, even soothing tea. The flavor is wonderful. It just wasn't as strong as I wanted it to be. Mostly what I got was the rose flavoring. I expected more. I wanted it to be richer.

Beautiful.

Solid mix of slight sweetness, complex and flowing florals, subtle and unique earthiness of saffron, with a smooth finish. Absolutely wonderful.

Wow, so smooth!

I enjoy rose black tea, like the flavor of saffron in cooking, and enjoy drinking a few cups of herbal tea each afternoon so decided to try this and I really like it! It's a complex but very balanced mix of flavors, the components don't overpower each other at all, yet so smooth and warm. I added a little stevia which brought out the flavors more. I will definitely be back for more of this because it's going to be one of my afternoon go-to teas! Please keep this tea around as it is a winner!

This tea is a very interesting, complex yet subtle blend of flavors. I can taste a little sweetness, but it is not assertive enough to define its source. The other flavors create a nice, balanced background. It's really hard to describe the flavor of this tea - the flavors blend so well. My husband and I have been enjoying it hot. He adds a little sweetener to his, I enjoy it as is.
