Additional Details

Sweet and Lively

North Tukvar Tea Estate is scenically beautiful, with a view of the snow-clad tips on top, the Rungneet river down below. This first flush lead is green, with silver tips and produces a bright amber liquor. It has a lively but smooth character, and a delightful fruity, juicy taste with a hint of nuttiness.

The artwork created by Cydney Williams in watercolor and caran d'Ache wax work, was made on handmade paper from Nepal on the roof of a tea house overlooking the Begnas Lake and the Himalayas.

This is the twenty-first in the Darjeeling Art Collectors’ Series.

Caffeine

This first flush Darjeeling tea has less than half the amount of caffeine per cup than in a similar-sized cup of coffee. More about caffeine.

Steeping Instructions

Fill your kettle with fresh, filtered water and heat to just short of boiling (175° F). Warm your teapot by swirling steamy water in it and then pour it out. Place one teaspoon of tea leaves per 6 oz of water into your pot or infusing basket. Pour the heated water over the tea leaves and infuse for 2-3 minutes. Serve the tea. Avoid letting the leaves stew. Enjoy sip by sip. Add the used tea leaves to your garden. They make a healthy fertilizer for plants.
