Whether factual or urban legend, the historic tale of the four thieves who survived the Black Plague by protecting themselves with a blend of essential oils is indeed impressive.
The inspired blend created by these former spice merchants included anti-inflammatory cinnamon and clove, throat-soothing eucalyptus, cleansing lemon and calming rosemary. These powerhouse herbs and spices all top the charts for their antioxidant content as well as anti-microbial qualities, and we've taken added orange and rooibos to round out the flavor of this historic recipe. Steeping herbal tea is easy. Simply heat fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Then pour 6 oz of water over the tea bag and steep for 5-7 minutes. Serve hot or let cool and pour over ice.
