Tradition, One Step Removed
Matcha is the star of the centuries-old Japanese tea ceremony. The tea is prepared traditionally in single portions, whipped to a frothy green with a bamboo whisk. Now, we humbly offer it to our citizens in round, unbleached tea bags. Enjoy the ease of "everyday ceremony" as you drink to your health and please your palate.

We’ve married the exquisite organic Japanese matcha powder with fine, organic green leaf tea. We invite you to sip the fresh, springtime-grassy flavor of this jade hued cup. This tea’s smooth character makes it a good partner with sweet or savory foods. This light and crisp infusion is clean, smooth and refreshing. Enjoy hot or iced!

Powdery on Purpose
As you open this tin, you may notice a faint green cloud, a wisp of powder. This is the beauty of matcha which comes from tencha leaves, a green tea that lives under shade three weeks before harvest. Its pure dried leaves, minus their fine veins and stems, are then ground into a fine powder. This powder, which seeps a bit from our tea bags and finds its way to the bottom of your cup, is meant to be consumed – just as in the Japanese tea ceremony. With it, you are sipping the healthful antioxidant benefits of this smooth-tasting favorite.

Benefits of Double Green Matcha

Matcha
Matcha is exceptionally high in antioxidants, with 10x the amount found in regular green tea. Matcha green tea is also thought to boost the body’s metabolism and improve memory and concentration.

Matcha Caffeine Content
Because matcha preparation uses ground tea leaves that cannot be removed after steeping, the caffeine content in a cup of matcha is much higher than that of a cup of tea prepared using tea bags or leaves. However, the exact caffeine content may vary depending on the ratio of water to matcha powder used. Matcha contains less than half the amount of caffeine per cup than in a similar-sized cup of coffee.

Benefits of Matcha Tea
Matcha tea powder is ground from fine Japanese green tea leaves. It is the star of the centuries-old Japanese tea ceremony, and its pleasant taste and health benefits make it a favorite of many tea-lovers today. It’s important to know where to buy the best quality Japanese matcha powder and tea bags and we take great pride in offering only top-quality matcha tea powder for your drinking pleasure.

How to Steep Matcha
Because matcha is a powder made from ground tea leaves, it is not steeped in the traditional way. To prepare matcha, add between ½ teaspoon and 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder to a cup. Fill a kettle with water and heat to just short of boiling. Pour 6 ounces of the steaming water into the cup of matcha powder. Then, blend vigorously with a tea frother or bamboo matcha whisk, until the top is nice and foamy. You may need to experiment with the proportions of water and matcha powder to find your favored strength.
