A New World of Green Tea

Unlike regular green tea, these tender, shade-grown leaves are ground to a fine powder. Instead of being steeped, U•Matcha® is blended into water and sipped (ground powder and all) allowing your body to take in more of the benefits that green tea has to offer. This energizing tea has the balanced savory flavors of what is referred to as umami (literally, "yummy" in Japanese). Also nice with a touch of honey and milk.

This blend of exotic Eastern spices — cinnamon, ginger and cardamom — is a warming balance to the grassy freshness of premium matcha. Wonderful as a latte or stirred into your morning oatmeal. To retain freshness after opening, reseal well and store in the refrigerator.

Prepare your U•Matcha® Chai with a Bamboo Matcha Whisk or Electric Frother, two wonderful additions to your kitchen.

Learn why matcha green tea is the star of the Japanese tea ceremony with a tea from our matcha collection. We take great pride in offering only the best matcha green tea powder for your drinking pleasure.

Caffeine:

On average, Matcha contains less than half the amount of caffeine per cup than in a similar-sized cup of coffee. More about caffeine.

Steeping Instructions:

1. Fill the kettle with fresh, filtered water and heat to just short of boiling.
2. Fill a bowl or cup with warm water and pour out.
3. Add 1/2 to 1 tsp of matcha to a bowl or cup. Add 6 oz of filtered, steaming (175°F) water. Experiment to find your favored strength.
4. Using a whisk or a hand frother, blend for one to two minutes until the matcha forms a nice foamy top.
