The Republic of Tea is proud to assure our Citizens that we are mindful of honoring special concerns and acting in a responsible manner for our Citizens and planet.
USDA Certified Organic Teas
A number of our teas are Certified Organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Quality Assurance International (QAI), an independent service organization developed specifically for the purpose of certifying the authenticity of produce which is organically grown. These teas and herbs are grown without the use of synthetic chemicals or pesticides, using only sustainable agricultural methods. (We procure organic teas and herbs from the earth's purest gardens whenever possible, but not all who practice organic farming are certified.)
Regenerative Organic Certified®
The mission of the Regenerative Organic Alliance is to build soil health, ensure equity for farm workers, empower farmers and improve animal welfare through a holistic farm-based, brand-driven certification. With regenerative organic agriculture, we can rehabilitate soil, respect animal welfare and improve the lives of farmers. We can sequester carbon, build healthier communities and reap more nutritious and abundant yields.
Kosher Certified
Many of our teas are Kosher Certified by the Orthodox Union (OU), the world's largest and most widely recognized kosher certification agency. Active for over two centuries, the OU is unique among all the major kosher certification agencies as it is part of a non-profit communal organization (founded in 1898). They maintain the highest levels of integrity without any possible conflict of interest.
Gluten-Free Certification
Delighting in the health of our Citizens, The Republic of Tea is the first and only tea company in the United States to be certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO). This ensures all of our full-leaf and bagged teas are absolutely free of gluten and possible cross-contamination from gluten. You will find the Gluten-Free logo on teas and other products.
Sugar Free
Not only do all of our teas taste delicious, but many are also sugar free.
Carb Free
Along with great taste, most of our teas contain zero carbs and zero calories.
Non-GMO Project Verified
The Non-GMO Project offers North America's only independent verification for products made according to rigorous best practices for GMO (genetically modified organisms) avoidance. Our verified products are produced in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard—that means we must follow rigorous best practices for GMO avoidance, including segregation and traceability to prevent contamination. Elephant Friendly
The tea leaves in these blends are harvested from Certified Elephant Friendly™ tea gardens committed to the protection of Asian elephants and their habitats.
