How to Use a Tea Kettle

Using a tea kettle is a simple process containing only a few steps until you've got a delicious cup of tea ready to go.

Step 1

Fill the tea kettle with water and set on the stove.

Step 2

Turn the stove on, and wait for the water inside to boil. When it starts whistling, you're ready to turn the stove off and pour the hot water into your mug!

Tea Kettles vs. Teapots

Tea kettles and teapots are very similar, with one key difference. Many people get them confused with each other, but once you know the difference, it's easy to remember. Tea kettles can go on stoves (also known as stovetop kettles), while teapots cannot. When making tea with a teapot, you must fill it with already boiling water. Teapots are easier to spot because they are usually more decorative.

Electric Tea Kettles

Electric tea kettles are faster at boiling water, making you wait less time for a delicious cup of tea. Our Earl Electric Kettle or Double Wall Electric Kettle with Temperature Control are both great options if you’re looking for an electric option.
